SCOPE AND DELIMITATIONS

SCOPE: This research aims to know the effects of online learning method on the
academic performance of college student. This is focusing on undergraduate
students enrolled in specific universities over the course of one academic year.
The objectives of this research is to know the extent to which online learning impacts
student’s grades, to identify factors that may influence the effectiveness of online
learning.

This research will use a mixed-matched methods approach, including surveys to


collect quantitative data on academic performance. This research will be conducted
at a single university, focusing on students of 2023-2024 academic year.

LIMITATIONS: Firstly, this study is limited to one university only, this limit the
generalizability of the findings to other institutions. The one-year timeframe may not
capture long-term effects of online learning on academic performance of college
students.

Another limitations pertains to the self-reported data from the students, which could
be affected by recall bias and social desirability bias. This research does not

consider external factors such as family circumstances or work commitments


that could affect the students’ academic performance.
Furthermore, the resource constraints might affect the depth of the qualitative
analysis and the sample size may be limited by the availability and willingness to
participate . Finally, this research does not address the potential influence of
specific online platforms or course designs which may vary widely in practice.
