Good morning and thank you for having me.

I feel very deeply honored and privileged

to give this speech to the class. I am grateful to our teacher for giving me the opportunity
to address this important matter such as identity what it is one of my favorite topics,
learning more languages.

The identity discovery process seems endless. Just when you think you know who you
are or have figured out where you are in the world, things change and you're right back
where you started. Learning more than one language can bring you numerous benefits,
both personal and professional.

Knowing more than one language can help you communicate with a wider range of
people. This is particularly important if you travel frequently or work in an international
environment. As a result, you will be improving your communication.

Becoming bilingual or even polyglot can make you more valuable in the job market,
especially if you work in industries such as tourism, international trade, or diplomacy. So,
actually you will be increasing your career opportunities.

Learning another language can help you understand and appreciate different cultures.
It allows you to connect with people from different backgrounds and helps you avoid
misunderstandings or stereotypes. Therefore, you will be understanding different cultures.
Studies have shown that learning a new language can improve cognitive function,
including memory, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Learning a new language can be a challenging but rewarding experience that can
boost your confidence and self-esteem. It can also broaden your perspectives and provide
you with a sense of accomplishment. You will achieve a great personal growth and this will
also help you understand who you are.

Last year I went to Oregon for an exchange trip and there I learned a lot about
different cultures. For example, here in Argentina we are really passionate about football
and although in the U.S.A. they do like football there are more passionate about American
football. A sport here in Argentina we don’t even have, we have rugby that can be similar,
but it is not the same. They are really different to us in some aspect, like for example the
family is stayed with was really different to my family. In my family we eat all together and
we share how our days went, but with my exchange family we didn’t we hardly even talk
about our days and there will be days in which I had to have dinner alone because they
were not hungry, if it were in my family it doesn’t matter if we are not hungry we always
sit together at the table and share our days with each other.

Speaking more than one language can help you better understand who you are. It
allows you to view the world from different perspectives and broaden your horizons. It can
also help you connect with your heritage and appreciate your cultural roots. For instance,
if you have family members who speak a different language, learning that language can
provide you with a deeper understanding of your family’s traditions, values, and customs.

In conclusion, speaking more than one language is not only a valuable skill but also a
way to be4tter understand who you are and the world around you. It can bring new
opportunities and experience that you may not had otherwise. So, I encourage you to
embrace the challenge of learning a new language and enjoy the benefits that come with
it.
