INTRODUCTION
Urban voids or lost spaces are an integral part of the city. It is very sensitive
issue to the public spaces for social interactions and for other purposes.
Space under the flyover is one of the public spaces that have been use by
people. While public spaces are mostly intended for such events, it may be
useful for other purposes to provide unplanned activities including under
flyover or bridges. This study seeks to analyse activities taken by local
community under flyovers and aims to further identify other potential
activities to be explored in expanding these spaces to benefit surrounding
communities.
AIM
• To study and analyse the concepts of urban voids, identifying and
analysing the types of urban voids, how these voids have great potential
for turning into public spaces through utilizing the space beneath flyover.
OBJECTIVE
• To identify and understand the problems related to current condition of
the spaces below the elevated flyovers.
• To develop a solution through different design interventions.
METHODOLOGY
• Studying the use of space under flyovers
• Studying about the activities that are taking place under flyovers
• Analysing the various activies through case studies
• Understanding the potential of space under flyover
SCOPE
• This research will help us to know how the leftover space be out to use
• It will include various design concepts to make the space potential
LIMITATION
• This research will be limited to the urban voids that are created under
flyovers.
