CLASS –3-B
Charging the furnace is the first step in the casting process. The cast house is
equipped with the following in order to prepare a charge, which is a mixture of
raw materials that are melted down to make an allow.

TYPES OF CASTING METHODS

1. Sand casting.

CASTING 2. Investment casting.

3. Die casting.
METHOD 4. Low pressure casting.
5. Centrifugal casting.
6. Gravity die casting.
7. Vacuum die casting.
8. Squeezing die casting.
9. Lost Foam Casting
10. Continual Casting
Casting is the original and most widely used method of forming
aluminum into products. Technical advances have been made,
but the principle remains the same:
• molten aluminum is poured into a mold to duplicate a desired
pattern.
• the three most Important methods are die casting,
permanent mold casting and sand casting.

 Hardware and fitting
 Baluster heads
 Grills
 Engine and parts
 Utensils, etc.
 Extrusion is a technique where heated materials such as aluminium
are forced through an opening to form a shaped profile. Once the
aluminium has been pushed through the container by the ram
within the press, it will form the extruded profile which will be the
same shape as the opening in the die.

 Window frames
 Facades
 Channels
 Tubes, etc.
 FOIL & POWDER BASED ALUMINIUM PRODUCTS
Foil made from aluminium is thin, light, easy-to-use and highly hygienic. It is widely
found in everything from packings for pharmaceuticals, foodstuff and other
commodities to electrolytic capacitors, lithium-ion batteries and construction
materials.

FOIL BASED PRODUCTS

• Aluminium foil
• Packings
ALUMINIUM • Electrical equipments

PRODUCTS • Industrial components, etc.

POWDER BASED ALUMINIUM PRODUCTS

In form of powder, Aluminum is used for several applications such as manufacture of
• slurry, explosive and detonators, hermit process used for
manufacture of terro alloys
• and for specialized welding applications such as a
pyrotechnic to manufacture
• crackers, sparkles and other pyrotechnic products
POWDER BASED PRODUCTS
 Crackers
 Welding essentials
 Aac block
 Paints, etc

SHEET BASED ALUMINUM PRODUCTS

 aluminium sheet is any aluminium sheet metal thicker than foil but
thinner than 6mm,
 it comes in many forms including diamond plate, expanded, perforated
and
 painted aluminium sheet.
 Aluminium plates is any aluminium sheet metal that is thicker than 6mm.

 NATIONAL STYLE
Architects working in India began to draw inspiration in the years
following Le Corbusier's work, and thus, began a more rapid
COMPARATIVE evolution of modern architecture. Today we see traditional
character in Indian architecture, but with modern form and style.
ANALYSIS OF Building is less ornate and more expressive in form. Materials are
basic but cutting edge. The use of steel and glass to erect innovative
BUILDING building forms is very popular and striking in the landscape. Urban
(NATIONAL AND centers in India are booming, bringing along with it a rise in
population and property demand. High-rise buildings are also
INTERNATIONAL ) common in these dense urban areas where space must be
maximized. Another modern characteristic in the architecture is its
BASED ON response to ecology and climate, designing for the environment.
CONSTRUCTION  INTERNATIONAL STYLE
TECHNIQUE The most common characteristics of International Style buildings
are rectilinear forms; light, taut plane surfaces that have been
completely stripped of applied ornamentation and decoration; open
interior spaces; and a visually weightless quality engendered by the
use of cantilever construction.
