The SAS Coordinator of Tañon College wrote to the School Administrator requesting permission to suspend classes whenever heavy rains and storms pose safety risks to students. The local government had already declared a class cancellation due to floods and landslides from recent bad weather. The Coordinator emphasized that prioritizing student safety by allowing flexible class suspensions would help communicate timely decisions to all stakeholders and foster a safe learning environment for the school community.

CYNTHIA A. SANCHEZ School Administrator Tañon College
Madam:
The Local Government Unit of our city declared localized cancellation of
classes at all levels due to floods/landslide hazards caused by heavy rains and thunderstorms.
While we understand the importance of waiting for your pronouncement,
however, the Student Affairs Office in coordination with the College Deans and principal would like to ask your permission THAT WE CAN SUSPEND CLASSES WHENEVER THE SAFETY AND WELL-BEING OF OUR STUDENTS ARE AT STAKE. Rest assured, we will align our decision-making with the directives of local government units, ensuring the safety of everyone during adverse weather conditions, and through this, we can include timely communication to all teachers, students, as well as to parents. By prioritizing the safety of our school community, we can foster an environment that values the lives and health of our students, teachers, and staff.
I look forward to your positive response on this matter.
