Learning Outcome

Online Learning mode V/S Offline Learning mode

The COVID-19 pandemic has interrupted teaching in a variety

of institutions, Electronic learning became the core method of
teaching in the curriculum during the pandemic.
According to me everything has Pros and cons, so I am
putting light on my observations that what I am thinking
about online learning mode v/s offline learning mode.
The main advantages of online learning mode is where we
have the ability to stay at home and study, there is
continuous access to online materials, learning at your own
pace, and comfortable surroundings. Online learning is
usually cheaper in scholar because there is lot of material to
study online, we can easily get access to online study
materials.
Since we all are learning from home, we won’t have expenses in
petrol for our bikes and Scotties or for public transport for
college. Yes, we can say that online teaching mode is biggest
saver for money. So yes, online learning is far less expensive,
more convenient and flexible, but the major thing to mention is
the lack of social interaction in online teaching.
The majority of respondents choose lack of interactions with
patients and technical problems as the main disadvantages.
As there was no such difference between face-to-face and
online learning in terms of opinions on the ability of the
learning method. But E-learning was considered less effective
than face-to-face learning in terms of increasing skills and
social competences. Students assessed that they were less
active during online classes compared to traditional classes.
In that sense, online learning can become quite isolating, as
level of interaction is minimum. With online education,
student to student engagement is very low.
There are less spontaneous debates in class and exchanges of
ideas, as everyone is comfortably seated behind a screen, the
screen maintaining everyone at a distance. Both virtually and
relational-wise.
But with offline learning, young students are all in a classroom,
they develop crucial qualities such as patience and team spirit,
and most importantly, respect .
In an offline setting, the class is disciplined with the teacher
always checking if students are indeed focused on the class
and not doing anything else, coming to them physically to
remind them to focus.
Both online and offline have benefits and short comings, yes.
And that is exactly why an education including both systems in
a program with the use of technology would indeed create a
very powerful education.
So yes, the efficiency of a class, being online or offline, all
depends on one’s motivation and drive to success.
