"Proper selection is a substitute for socialization." Do you agree or disagree with

this statement? Explain.

I disagree since the selection process' objective is distinct from

socialization's objective. While socialization refers to the process of adjusting to a
new job role, selection refers to the process of narrowing down potential
applicants to those with the qualifications and skill set needed to fill open
positions in a company. A person's abilities or capacities are not the only thing
that the company must support; it is equally important to consider how a person
acts and behaves in the workplace. Because people arrive with a set of values,
attitudes, and expectations shaped by prior experience and the selection process,
the socializing process is crucial. However, even the most compatible person
needs to become familiar with the quirks, traditions, and culture of the
organization. Socialization, in contrast to proper selection, entails getting to know
the company, as well as the people, the groups, and the nature of the activity.
Socialization helps people feel welcomed and understand what is expected of
them, which has a significant impact on employee performance and
organizational stability. The socializing process at work boosts productivity and
creates more skilled teams. The team succeeds and the business is successful
when there is good interaction and communication among the staff.
