title :
survey on fitness

Terms of reference:
As instructed by our professor, a survey was conducted to assess the level of fitness
and interest in gyming and sports in students of 2 BBA D.

Introduction:
Physical fitness is a state of health and well-being and, more specifically, the ability to
perform aspects of sports, occupations and daily activities. Physical fitness is generally
achieved through proper nutrition, moderate-vigorous physical exercise, and sufficient
rest along with a formal recovery plan. Regular physical activity is one of the most
important things you can do for your health.
1. Exercise controls weight

Exercise can help prevent excess weight gain or help maintain weight loss. When you
engage in physical activity, you burn calories. The more intense the activity, the more
calories you burn.

Regular trips to the gym are great, but don't worry if you can't find a large chunk of time
to exercise every day. Any amount of activity is better than none at all. To reap the
benefits of exercise, just get more active throughout your day — take the stairs instead
of the elevator or rev up your household chores. Consistency is key.

2. Exercise combats health conditions and diseases

Worried about heart disease? Hoping to prevent high blood pressure? No matter what
your current weight is, being active boosts high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol,
the "good" cholesterol, and it decreases unhealthy triglycerides. This one-two punch
keeps your blood flowing smoothly, which decreases your risk of cardiovascular
diseases. It can also help improve cognitive function and helps lower the risk of death
from all causes.

3. Exercise improves mood

Need an emotional lift? Or need to destress after a stressful day? A gym session or
brisk walk can help. Physical activity stimulates various brain chemicals that may leave
you feeling happier, more relaxed and less anxious.

You may also feel better about your appearance and yourself when you exercise
regularly, which can boost your confidence and improve your self-esteem.

4. Exercise boosts energy

Winded by grocery shopping or household chores? Regular physical activity can

improve your muscle strength and boost your endurance.

Exercise delivers oxygen and nutrients to your tissues and helps your cardiovascular
system work more efficiently. And when your heart and lung health improve, you have
more energy to tackle daily chores.

5. Exercise promotes better sleep

Struggling to snooze? Regular physical activity can help you fall asleep faster, get better
sleep and deepen your sleep. Just don't exercise too close to bedtime, or you may be
too energized to go to sleep.

6. Exercise puts the spark back into your sex life

Do you feel too tired or too out of shape to enjoy physical intimacy? Regular physical
activity can improve energy levels and increase your confidence about your physical
appearance, which may boost your sex life.

But there's even more to it than that. Regular physical activity may enhance arousal for
women. And men who exercise regularly are less likely to have problems with erectile
dysfunction than are men who don't exercise.

7. Exercise can be fun … and social!

Exercise and physical activity can be enjoyable. They give you a chance to unwind,
enjoy the outdoors or simply engage in activities that make you happy. Physical activity
can also help you connect with family or friends in a fun social setting.
So take a dance class, hit the hiking trails or join a soccer team. Find a physical activity
you enjoy, and just do it. Bored? Try something new, or do something with friends or
family.

Methodology:
A survey is a mechanism for collecting data from many individuals. Surveys are used to
discover more about the attitudes, beliefs, actions, and other characteristics of a group.
They can be conducted in a number of different ways, such as face-to-face interviews,
telephone talks, online questionnaires, and mail-in forms. Surveys provide a rapid and
effective way to get a lot of data from a diverse group of individuals, which is
advantageous for organizations, researchers, and governments. Market research, social
and behavioral sciences research, political polling, and programme assessment are just
a few of the many uses for survey data.
Surveys are a useful and adaptable data gathering tool, but they must be carefully
planned and carried out to produce accurate and significant results.
I have used a mix of two types of surveys which include self-administered surveys
and online surveys. I used google forms to make an online questionnaire which I
circulated in my batch to get results and answers from my fellow colleagues
Benefits are:
Convenience
Speed
Efficiency
Affordability
simplicity of analysis
reaching a bigger audience
I used Google Forms to distribute questionnaires to participants in my surveys to collect
data because it was a quick and inexpensive way to learn about participants' thoughts
and experiences.
Online forms were used, which made it possible for data analysis to be done quickly
and easily. The ability of the participants to complete the survey at their own pace and
from any location boosted the response rate and overall accuracy of the data gathered.
Additionally, Google Forms provided tools like skip logic and obligatory questions that
aided in ensuring that the information gathered was accurate and comprehensive.

Findings:

The data suggests that the majority of the population falls within the age range of 18-21
with nearly 68.8% of the population being 18-21. 31.3% of the population is from the
age group 15-17. This indicates that the majority of the population is comprised of
young adults

the majority of the population comprising 43.8% of the population has good health. This
means these people are fit but their fitness level is not consistent
Almost half of the population of 43.8% does not go to the gym. This may be due to the
various reasons like illness, lack of equipments etc.

Majority of the population is not into sports. This explains that most of the students are
extremely lazy and do not do any kind of physical activities.

43.8% of the survey shows students do not follow a compiled exercise plan. This proves
that they are not consistent with their workout and tend to do what they feel like which
may not be effective at all.
With the maximum percentage of o 37.5% it is proven that students are more motivated
to workout when they workout alone. This may be because some students are shy or
introverted in front of their peers and enjoy their company alone while working out.

Even though the majority of the population doesn’t smoke, 25% of the students smoke
when they workout. This is not a healthy habit as smoking is injurious to health and may
affect your fitness.
Most of the students do not have a balanced diet( 75%). This is not a good sign as we
need to have a proper diet to sustain our fitness. Without a proper diet, a workout
routine is of no use.

Conclusion and suggestion:

Through the survey we get to know that a lot of students have good fitness but most of
them do not go to the gym or go play outside.
The ones who workout either don't follow a proper workout routine or don't have a
proper diet. Without these two the person's health and fitness is affected and there is
not much growth in the fitness level of the individual.

What we infer from this is that the students are becoming lazy and do no form of
physical activities. Or the other reasons could be health issues, disabilities etc.
What is suggested is that the students should be a little more active and do some sort of
physical activity in their day to day life of their choice along with proper diet and exercise
as nothing happens overnight, consistency is the key to change.
