We are here to celebrate a few of these defining
moments that have been shaped by the commitment
to excellence displayed by our meritorious award
winners.

Parnika:

Today we will recognize and applaud the


accomplishments of the students of Grades 6 to 9 in
diverse academic and co-curricular domains.

Daniel:

Students will be awarded in the categories of -


Attainment, Effort, NMS GEMS Award, NMS S.T.A.R
Award, and Outstanding Achievement.

Soham:

The theme for our Prize Day is Yawm Kotinos.

Yawm is an Arabic word while Kotinos is a Greek


word. The blend of both these beautiful words
translates to Today’s Olympians.

The phrase is a tribute to the spirit of grit,


perseverance and resilience that has spurred on our
students to strive forever higher and secure their
position as award winners this afternoon.

Felicitation Samantha:
of Special
Guests It is now my privilege to introduce a woman of
substance and impact. She has been an integral part
of GEMS for the past 27 years, Beginning her journey
as a Secondary School teacher. She has since held
several leadership positions across various GEMS
schools, continuously developing and growing
professionally. She presently serves as the Senior Vice
President -Gems education and ensures that the
school under her guidance continually strive to be
exemplary models of the GEMS core principles.

Soham:

Ms Anand is a committed educationalist and a


passionate leader. She is dedicated* to enable pupils
from a rich cultural mix and of all abilities, to receive
the most challenging educational opportunities and
achieve their full academic potential while
understanding their cultural needs.

Samantha:

Her personal belief in servant leadership allows her to


serve and develop leaders who in turn give their best
to create a learning environment that inspires pupils
to deliver the best outcomes.

Soham:

Please welcome Ms. Ranju Anand, Senior Vice


President at GEMS and our esteemed guest for this

Zoya Parnika: We now have an award that has been
Memorial instated this year in memorial of a dear student, Zoya.
Award for May I invite Ms. Venetia our Head of Middle school to
Resilience tell us more about this meaningful award.

Ms. Venetia: Zoya Ahahd was a part of the GEMS


family since 2012. She joined NMS in 2021. Despite
her brief tenure, Zoya made a tremendous impact at
NMS as a Grade 8B student. Despite her challenging
medical condition, Zoya’s unwavering positivity,
strength, and determination inspired us all. Even
through all her pain she did not Zoya fail to express
her love and gratitude to her friends through a video
clip she shared with them, reflecting her remarkable
resilience.

The Zoya Memorial Award for Resilience now honors


individuals who, like Zoya, demonstrate remarkable
courage in the face of adversity. Her spirit lives on,
inspiring others to approach life's challenges with the
same fearlessness, courage and positivity that she did.

The Zoya Memorial Award for Resilience is a tribute


to the vibrant life of Zoya, a fearless and enthusiastic
young girl. At NMS we salute Zoya’ s courageous spirit
