Section II B Structure

2B-1 General
This section describes the technical specifications and measurements and payment for
structure works for canals and inspection roads that must be carried out in accordance
with working drawings or PPK orders.
If any, the structures to be constructed or rehabilitated are:
- Division/Off-take Structures,
- Tertiary Box,
- Pipe/box culverts,
- Flume concrete / masonry,
- Overflow Structure,
- Cross drainage culverts,
- People's bridge/bridge,
- Gutters,
- Waterfall Structure,
- Wash Ladder, and
- Concrete lining and masonry, slope protection, etc.

2B-2 Earthworks

2B-2.1 Excavation
Excavation work for structures must be carried out in accordance with the provisions of
Article B-3.2.
Excavations for canal lining, side spillways and box culverts must be carried out at the
same time as canal excavation work. The volume of excavation work for the above
structures must be calculated as canal excavation work.
Excavation work for drainage culverts, bridge foundations, except for bridges that cross
canal excavations, must be carried out before carrying out canal excavation work.
Measurement of excavation work must be carried out based on the original ground surface
as shown in the drawing or PPK order.
Excavation work for structures other than those mentioned above is carried out after the
excavation work and/or canal embankment has been completed. In this case the volume of
excavation work for the structure must be measured starting from the surface of the
excavation or canal embankment according to the dimensions shown in the drawings.

2B-2.2 Landfill and backfill


Landfill and backfill around structures must be done in accordance with the provisions in
Articles B-4 and B-5, in such a way that compaction can be carried out properly without
causing damage to the structure using appropriate equipment approved by PPK before
use.
Special attention is required for earth embankment work under structures built on
embankments, especially to prevent differential settlement and piping along the structure
foundation.

Pouring/casting of concrete at the embankment location mentioned above may not be


carried out until 3 (three) months after the landfill is completed and must first obtain PPK
approval prior to pouring the concrete.

2B-2.3 Grass Thickness


Grass fill work must be carried out on the surface of the earth heap or excavation as
shown in the drawings or PPK instructions. In locations with sharp soil slopes or soil
materials prone to erosion, protection of these locations by using a geo-grid must be
carried out in accordance with PPK's instructions by following the provisions in Article
H-17 or using other materials for slope/cliff protection as shown in the drawings or PPK
order..

2B-3 Concrete Works

2B-3.1 Reinforced Concrete


Reinforced concrete work for irrigation structures must use Type-B concrete in
accordance with the provisions in Article C-2.1, for pre-cast concrete and concrete for
bridge superstructures use Type-A concrete, or according to the provisions in the
drawings or PPK orders.

2B-3.2 Non-reinforced concrete


Concrete for canal linings must be Type-B concrete, concrete for structure foundations
must be Type-C in accordance with the provisions in Article C-2.1 or in accordance with
what is shown in the drawings or in accordance with PPK instructions Pouring/casting of
concrete can only be done after the preparation of the foundation has been completed. and
approved by PPK in accordance with Article C-3.3.

2B-3.3 Concrete Formwork


Concrete molds must be made of wood, metal or other materials approved by PPK,
preparation, installation, adjustment and dismantling of concrete molds must be done in
accordance with the provisions in Article C-11.
If the concrete mold has been completed and is ready for concrete casting, the Provider
must notify the PPK, no later than 24 (twenty four) hours prior to the concrete casting, for
inspection and approval. Concrete casting may not be carried out before obtaining PPK
approval.
Dismantling of concrete molds may only be carried out after the strength of the concrete is
strong enough, no later than 3 (three) days after the concrete casting has been completed
in accordance with the provisions in Article C-11.2.

2B-3.4 Precast Concrete Pipe


Unless otherwise specified in the PPK drawing or order, the precast concrete pipe design
in principle must comply with the provisions of KP-04. The minimum amount of
reinforcing steel for reinforced concrete pipes shall be as follows: 6 mm with spacing of
steel bars (C+C) 150 mm in the transverse direction of the pipe and 10 mm with C+C
100 mm in the longitudinal direction of the pipe or according to PPK instructions. If the
concrete pipe is to be provided with perforated holes for drainage purposes, the size of the
holes and the density of the holes must comply with the provisions shown in the drawings
or in accordance with the PPK instructions.

2B-4 Stone Work


Stone work in question is stone masonry, riprap, stone gabions, sand embankments,
gravel, stone for foundations and others that must be done according to the provisions in
Part D of this specification and in accordance with drawings or PPK orders. Masonry
work that uses stones resulting from demolition of old masonry must be paid as Type-C
masonry work following the provisions in Article D-2.
The provider is not allowed to work on the landfill before the quality and thickness of the
masonry that has been completed has been checked and approved by the PPK. Violation
of this provision shall be the sole responsibility of the Provider including the cost of
excavating the landfill for inspection and confirmation of the quality and dimensions of
the masonry and backfilling it.
Procedures for mixing cement mortar, quality and size of stones, working methods and
other provisions stipulated in Article D-2 for masonry work must be fully followed by the
Provider unless there is a PPK order..

2B-5 Disassembly, Chipping, Disposal and Cleaning


The provisions in Articles D-9.1 and H-2.6 must be followed in carrying out the
demolition, chipping, disposal and cleaning of old structures and must be prevented from
damage that can occur to old structures that are outside the boundaries of the work
location. If these provisions cannot be followed properly, the Provider must be responsible
including repairs, replacement of damaged structures at their own expense until the
repair/replacement is approved by the PPK.

2B-6 Watergate and its Equipment


Provision and installation of sliding doors in the structure for, side overflow / drainage
and other irrigation structures must be carried out in accordance with the drawings and
follow the provisions in Sub-section G of this specification. The provider must provide
and submit a verification curve or table in accordance with the provisions of Article 15.4
of the General Specifications required for structures, doors and their fittings which also
function as discharge measuring instruments.
Watergate gates, lifting equipment and equipment must be made with sizes/dimensions
based on shop drawings approved by PPK as well as the factory/supplier. PPK has the
right to approve or reject the doors submitted by the Provider.
The provider must submit to the PPK for inspection and approval the detailed design
drawings, engineering calculations of the door strength, weight, technical specifications
and the watergate manual in accordance with the provisions in Article 4 of the General
Specifications.
The door frame iron must be installed in place properly and firmly according to the
drawings and is not allowed to shift or change when and during the pouring of concrete.
Providers at their own expense must provide and install metal supports, distance pieces,
ties and others needed so that the location and position of the door frame and embedded
items are correct and do not shift from the planned position.
The Supplier shall provide all watergate equipment, components and accessories which
are not shown in the drawings but which are necessary for their efficient operation
without additional payment to him.
Payment for watergate works, means of transportation and equipment must be made based
on the unit price of the work stated in the List of Quantities and Prices including costs for
design, purchase, laboratory testing, transportation, maintenance storage, assembling,
galvanizing, installation, adjustment, painting and other activities. -other activities

required for the completion of this work in accordance with the provisions in Sub-Article
G.

2B-7 Off-take Structure


The division structure and the structure for the tertiary intake (off-take) referred to here is
the construction of the structure for and the structure for the new tertiary which is built
using stone masonry.
Stone masonry work must be carried out following the provisions in Article D-2.
If during the implementation it turns out that there is a lot of stone material from the
dismantling of old masonry, the Provider is obliged to use as much of the used stone as
possible by taking into account and following the provisions in Article D-2 and PPK
orders. For watergate work, it must be constructed and installed in accordance with the
PPK drawings or instructions in accordance with the provisions in Part G of this
Specification.
The provider must submit and store the block blocks (stop-log) in the warehouse owned
by the PPK, in the work location environment in accordance with the provisions in Article
H-1.

2B-8 Box Culvert


Most of the box culverts that will be built are box culverts that are needed at the location
of the canal crossing with the road. The culverts can be single, double or multi box
culverts of reinforced concrete construction according to the drawings.
If long box culverts are found, it is necessary to provide connection construction in the
form of contraction joints and expansion joints at every distance of 10 m ~ 15 m in
accordance with the drawings or PPK orders.
Type-B concrete is used for box culverts, except for Type-C concrete foundations with
transition walls from box culverts to canal cliffs/slopes, stone masonry is used as shown in
the drawings or according to PPK orders.
Providers are required to build temporary road facilities to ensure the smooth running of
public traffic at the location of rehabilitation work or the construction of box culverts.
These road facilities can be in the form of temporary bridges or temporary road
relocations in accordance with conditions at the work location and PPK approval.
Costs for the manufacture, maintenance, demolition and cleaning of temporary structures
and other supporting work required for the completion of box culvert work including costs
for workers' wages, materials and equipment must be calculated and included in the lump-
sum cost of temporary work listed in the Quantity and Price List.
If the items of work/lump-sum costs above are not listed in the Quantity and Price List, all
costs incurred for these activities which are necessary for the ease and smoothness of the
implementation of the main/permanent work, are considered included in the contract price
and are the full responsibility of the Provider..

2B-9 Flume and Parapet Masonry


The stone masonry used for the flume and parapet rehabilitation work is Type-B stone
masonry as shown in the drawings or PPK orders. The surface of old concrete or masonry
to be connected to the parapet wall must be chipped in accordance with Article D-9.1.
For long flumes, it is necessary to provide connection construction in the form of
Contraction Joints and expansion joints with a distance of 10 m ~ 15 m according to the
provisions in the drawings or PPK orders.

The provisions in Article H-8 or the PPK order regarding weep holes that are installed on
parapet walls and flap valves needed on flume floors must be followed and carried out in
drain work.
All costs for constructing temporary works required for the implementation of flume
works, for example temporary parapet walls, drying and others, including costs for
maintenance, demolition and cleaning, are calculated and included in the lump-sum cost
of temporary works listed in the Quantity and Price List.
If the items of work/lump-sum costs above are not listed in the Quantity and Price List, all
costs incurred for these activities which are necessary for the ease and smoothness of the
implementation of the main/permanent work, are considered included in the contract price
and are the full responsibility of the Provider..

2B-10 Spillway/ Waste Way


Side spillway and waste way structures must be constructed in accordance with the PPK
drawings or instructions.
The overflow structure is in the form of a weir with a wide threshold and a flume, while
the discharge structure consists of a watergate gate and a flume as shown in the figure.
The discharge structure is equipped with a watergate gate and can be combined with a
spillway located at the end of the flume. The water that overflows from the canal and the
water in the canal that flows out when the sewage structure door is opened will flow to the
river/drain around the area through a flume that will be built in accordance with the
drawings or PPK orders. At the mouth of the sewer, it is necessary to construct an outlet
structure from stone gabions which is based on a geo-textile filter and wooden dolken
piles for foundation repair/strengthening if needed, according to the drawings or PPK
orders.
Watergate gates in disposal structures must be provided and installed in accordance with
the provisions of Article 2B-6 with the type, shape and dimensions according to the
drawings shown.

2B-11 Cross Drainage Culvert and Sipon Structure


There are 2 (two) types of drainage culverts in the form of pre-cast concrete pipes and
reinforced concrete box culverts equipped with stone masonry transition walls at both
inlet and outlet ends and protected with stone gabions in accordance with the provisions
shown in drawings or PPK orders. Precast concrete pipes must be made following the
provisions in Articles C-15 and 2B-3.4 and reinforced concrete boxes must be made/
implemented according to the provisions in Part C and Article 2B-8.
If the cross-drainage culverts are long enough, they must be equipped with construction
joints following the provisions in C-14.2 expansion joints and C-14.3 contraction joints.
Gutters for drainage consist of flumes, bases and pillars which are constructed of
reinforced concrete Type-A for the top or flume, and Type-B for other parts including
bases and pillars of gutters. The transition walls at the inlet and outlet of the gutter are
constructed of masonry according to the drawings. Flume gutter connections must be done
properly and thoroughly so that leaks occur.
If during the maintenance period a leak occurs in the gutters, the Provider must
immediately carry out preventive and corrective actions in accordance with Article 48 of
the General Conditions of the Contract.
Temporary works in the form of cofferdams, diversion channels and other supporting
works required for the implementation and completion of drainage culverts and gutters

must be carried out by the Provider after the proposed work plan and method have been
approved by the PPK.
Costs for all temporary works and supporting works above including costs for labour,
materials and equipment are considered to have been calculated in the lump-sum cost for
temporary works listed in the Quantity and Price List.
If the items of work/lump-sum costs above are not listed in the Quantity and Price List, all
costs incurred for these activities which are necessary for the ease and smoothness of the
implementation of the main/permanent work, are considered included in the contract price
and are the full responsibility of the Provider.

2B-12 Bridge

2B-12.1 General
Traffic bridges and bridges for pedestrians with long spans must be constructed with
reinforced concrete T-beam construction Type Class I to Class III of the Bina Marga
standard depending on the road class, while bridges with short spans are built with
reinforced concrete floor construction, supported by head and pillars of the bridge.

2B-12.2 Super Structure


Unless otherwise specified, Type A concrete must be used for floors and beams of class I
to class III traffic bridges, while Type-B concrete must be used for floors of pedestrian
bridges, in accordance with the provisions in Article C-2.1.
Provision, manufacture and installation of iron pipes for bridge abutments, bridge
bearings (bearing shoes) and expansion joints as well as PVC pipes for bridge drainage
must be carried out in accordance with the provisions in Articles H-2.3, H-2.4, H-2.5 and
H-7.

2B-12.3 Bridge Aisles and Pillars


The base of the bridge must be built with masonry or reinforced concrete construction,
while the bridge piers with reinforced concrete construction as shown in the drawings.
The foundation for the head and pillars of the bridge must be prepared and carried out
following the provisions described in Article B-3.2 or in accordance with the PPK order
and if necessary foundation repairs with piles of cobble stones, cobble stone foundation,
the provisions in Article D-5 must be followed, and backfill returns must be carried out in
accordance with Article B-2.

2B-12.4 Protection of Slopes/ Cliffs and Approach Roads


If the bridge is constructed in an unlined canal section, the bed and talud of the canal shall
be protected with masonry linings as shown in the drawings.
Piling up of land for approach roads connecting bridges with roads and backfill for bridge
abutments must be done in accordance with the provisions in Article B-4.2. The road
surface (approach road) must be hardened or paved depending on the class of road
following the provisions of Article D-6 or according to PPK orders.

2B-12.5 Safety and Smooth Traffic


While the implementation of bridge work or rehabilitation work is in progress, temporary
bridges and/or temporary road relocations must be provided/worked to maintain safety
and smooth traffic undisturbed.

The costs required for the construction, maintenance and demolition of the temporary
facilities mentioned above including costs for workers' wages, materials and equipment
are considered to have been calculated in the lump-sum cost for temporary works listed in
the Quantity and Price List.
If the items of work/lump-sum costs above are not listed in the Quantity and Price List, all
costs incurred for these activities which are necessary for the ease and smoothness of the
implementation of the main/permanent work, are considered included in the contract price
and are the full responsibility of the Provider.

2B-13 Gutters (Aqueducts)


Gutters must be constructed using reinforced concrete construction using Type-A concrete
for superstructure construction and Type-B concrete for other construction parts,
abutments, piers, except for lean concrete. Type-C concrete must be used.
To confirm the condition of the foundation soil, it is necessary to carry out additional
drilling, exploratory boring and sounding, with core drilling or DCPT, or SWST or other
efforts according to PPK orders which are carried out before the construction of the
aqueduct is carried out.
Costs for Core drilling and DCPT are included in the lump-sum cost and unit price of the
work concerned in the Schedule of Quantities and Prices.
In carrying out the aqueduct construction work, temporary work and support work may be
required for drying, coffering and others in accordance with the provisions of Article A-
9.4, the costs required for the temporary and supporting facilities including costs for
workers' wages, materials and equipment have been calculated and included in the lump-
sum costs in the Schedule of Quantities and Prices.

2B-14 Drop Structures


In this work package there are 2 (two) types of waterfall structures, namely vertical
waterfall structures for waterfall heights of less than 1.5 m and inclined waterfall
structures for waterfall heights of more than 1.5 m.
The two types of waterfall structures above, if not specified otherwise in the drawing, are
built using Type-B stone masonry in accordance with the provisions of Article D-2 or
Type-C if the stone used comes from used stone/the result of demolition of old masonry.
The surface of the wall at the waterfall must be plastered in accordance with the
provisions in Article D-2.6 and the transition wall surface at the inlet and outlet of the
waterfall must be plastered in accordance with the provisions in Article D-2.5.
The foundation of the waterfall structure must be well compacted using selected soil
stockpile material not sand and approved by PPK to prevent "piping". If the foundation
soil is sandy soil, the provider must replace it selectively according to the PPK order.

2B-15 Washing Structure


Structures for washing facilities will be provided/worked out in accordance with the
recommendations of the local community for washing, bathing and other needs.
The wash-shower structure is made of Type-B or Type-C masonry in accordance with the
provisions in Article D-2, with the surface plastered in accordance with Article D-2.6. The
protective walls of the cliffs upstream and downstream of the structure are not plastered
but plastered in accordance with Article D-2.5.

2B-16 Concrete Lining and Masonry


The canal lining shall be constructed of C-Type concrete according to the drawings and
shall be carried out in accordance with the provisions in Articles C-2.1 (Trials and Mixing
Proportions), C-4.2 (Concrete for Canal Lining), C-5 (Concrete treatment), C- 7 (Trial
Work of Concrete Drain Linings) and other Sections in Part C as appropriate for this
work.
Lining of the canal from masonry with mortar must be carried out on the canal segment
according to the drawings, using Type-B masonry and spread it unless there is a PPK
order to plaster in accordance with the provisions in Article D-2.
Excavation work for concrete lining must be carried out according to the Drawings,
slopes/taluds and channel bottoms must be prepared with the elevation, slope and
dimensions according to the Drawings and the provisions of Article C-3.3. The
reinforcement for the canal lining must be installed before placing the concrete in
accordance with the drawings and provisions in Article C-12.
Slope sealing and underdraining with infiltration pipes or flap valves must be carried out
in accordance with the provisions in the Drawings and following the provisions described
in Article H-8.
To carry out additional lining work in existing canals, the Provider must pay attention to
and comply with the following provisions:
- Repair of the slope of the existing canal slope must be done after the slope is dry
enough and permitted by PPK so that the compaction of the slope is in accordance
with the provisions of Article B-4 Part-I. Providers are strictly prohibited from
carrying out fireplace work on existing canal slopes before confirming the condition
of the slopes to the PPK and with the approval of the PPK.
- Grazing and preparation of lining foundations must be carried out in accordance with
the provisions in Article C-3.3.2 (Canal Lining Foundation) with tolerances according
to Article B-9 (Earthwork Tolerances) in Part-I. The cost for the fireplace and the
preparation of the lining foundation is included in the unit price of the lining work
listed in the Quantity and Price List.
- Fireplace work and preparation of lining foundations are only carried out after the
canal is completely dry, so that all debris and dirt can be cleaned from the surface of
the lining foundation.
- For lining foundation fireplaces with quick and efficient compaction, a backhoe
equipped with a wide bucket specially designed for slope hearth and its compaction
must be used. This type of bucket before being used in the field must first be proposed
by the Provider to PPK for approval. PPK can order the Provider to carry out a trial
run of the backhoe with the special bucket before it is used in the field, and based on
that trial the PPK may order the Provider to correct the deficiencies and carry out
another trial or start carrying out work in the field.
- If the bottom of the old canal has been degraded or scoured deep enough, it must be
backfilled/backfilled and reshaped so that the elevation and dimensions of the canal
are in accordance with the provisions in the Drawings. Backfilling must be carried out
by following the conditions in Article B-5 (Backfill/backfill) including the method of
measurement and payment.
- Backfilling and reshaping of lining foundations for rehabilitation of canal slopes that
have fallen or been scoured deep enough should be carried out using the following
method:

a) The slope/talud of the old canal must be excavated in stages as a foundation for
backfill/backfill to be done, payment for this work will be made separately in
accordance with the provisions of Article B-3.4 in Part-I.
b) The embankment on the excavated slope must be carried out layer by layer and
compacted using a tamping rammer or stamper in accordance with the conditions
of the work site following the terms and conditions of Article B-4 (Landfill) and
added sufficiently with extra embankment exceeding the slope line indicated in
the Picture. Payment for this embankment work is made based on the provisions
of Article B-4.3 in Part-I.
c) The extra embankment is cut up to the slope line which is determined as the
foundation of the canal lining, must be carried out in accordance with the
provisions of Article C-3.4.2 in Part-I.
- Pouring of concrete for canal linings must be carried out in accordance with the
provisions in Article C-3.4 (Pouring of Concrete Mixture) including the use of air-
entraining admixture and C-4.2 (Concrete for Lining of Canals).
- To avoid the formation of joints or cold joints in one segment of the concrete lining,
use an appropriate liquid retarder with PPK approval.
- To accelerate the hardening/strength of the concrete layer, use an appropriate liquid
(admixture) or fast-setting cement with PPK approval.
- Tolerances for concrete lining work must comply with the provisions in Article C-8
(Tolerances for Concrete Work)
- Concrete curing carried out according to the requirements specified in C-5 (Concrete
Curing) and curing materials according to the requirements in Sub-section C-5.3 and
approved by PPK shall be used for the curing of concrete layers as specified in Sub-
section C-5.1.
- At the joints between the new concrete lining panels or with the old concrete lining, a
joint sealant must be installed in accordance with the provisions in Article H-5 Part-I
or in accordance with PPK orders.
- Unless specified in the drawings or by the PPK, the provider must use molds/slip-
forms for coating concrete in such a way that the casting can be carried out
continuously and allows the compression and formation/setting of surface coatings.
This italic mold before being used in the field must first be proposed by the Provider
to the PPK for approval. The pouring concrete layer for the inclined molds shall be
started from the bottom of the chute upwards by electrically sliding the forms or other
suitable method.
- The lining concrete used is the result of batching plant production in accordance with
Sub-articles C-2 and C-9 and is approved by PPK.
- Underdrain, which consists of graded sand and gravel in accordance with Article D-8
which is placed on top of a Type-1 geo-textile layer in accordance with Article H-17
must be sufficiently compacted.
- Basically producing concrete for lining must use a batching plant based on Articles C-
2 and C-9 as well as PPK approval.
- For bottom bunds in canal linings, the graded sand and gravel filters as specified in
Article D-8 shall be used based on the Type-1 geo-textile filter specified in Sub-
section H-16.3 with sufficient compaction.

- For underdrain standards as shown in the drawing, if springs are found on the slope of
the foundation lining, adjustments to the direction and/or design of the underfloor
drainage must be made with the approval of the PPK.

Measurements for payment for canal linings made of concrete and stone masonry are
carried out based on the relevant work unit price per cubic meter listed in the List of
Quantities and Prices and are considered to include costs for wages, materials, equipment
and construction installation needed to complete this work, including the procurement of
cement. , aggregates, admixture (if used), mixing, pouring and grouting of concrete,
construction joints and other works. Measurements for payment for laying of masonry
linings are carried out separately at the unit price per square meter contained in the
Quantity and Price List. Measurement and payment for reinforcing bars, joint filler,
subfloor fittings and infiltration pipes are carried out separately based on the relevant
article in Part-I. Payment for fabrication and procurement of molds is made at the unit
price in question in the Quantity and Price List. The payment is total compensation for the
fabrication, transportation, storage, repair, materials, tools, equipment and other things to
prepare the oblique moulds,

2B-17 Km and Hm
The km and hm markers shall be made and installed along the canal by the Provider to
indicate the cumulative length of the canal measured from the intake structure or the canal
start point. The stakes must be made of concrete with a size of 30 cm x 30 cm x 1.5 m for
km stakes and a size of 10 cm x 10 cm x 1.0 m for hm stakes which must be installed
along the inspection road or according to PPK orders with painted letters and numbers and
clear.

2B-18 Certainty of Foundation Supporting Capacity


When excavation for the foundation for the structure has been completed, the Provider
must ensure the bearing capacity of the foundation according to PPK's instructions using a
Cone Penetrometer, Dutch Cone Penetrometer or other equipment.
The costs for carrying out the above activities are considered included in the lump-sum
costs for work to be carried out with these specifications. Particularly for structures:
culverts, traffic bridges, foot/person bridges, gutters, cross-drainage culverts, sipons, other
main structures in accordance with PPK instructions, confirmation of the bearing capacity
of the foundation is mandatory, unless otherwise ordered by PPK.
If it has been confirmed that the bearing capacity of the foundation is not good enough to
support the structure, it is necessary to carry out repairs in accordance with the PPK order
to add wooden piles, sand and gravel piles on top of the geo-textile layer in accordance
with Articles D-7 and H-17 or other work in accordance with the additional drawings that
will be given/ordered by PPK.
Before confirming the bearing capacity of the foundation for the structure and if
additional foundation design drawings are needed, the Provider is not allowed to carry out
the work.

2B-19 Measurement and Payment

2B-19.1 Site Clearing


Cutting of trees, clearing of shrubs, demolition of tree trunks and remnants of old
structures (if any) and stripping of topsoil topsoil, or clearing, grubbing and stripping,
required for structure works, must be measured and paid according to the provisions in

Article B- 1 and B-2 unless the location of the structure is located on the clearing,
grubbing and stripping lines for the canal.

2B-19.2 Excavation
Measurements for structure excavations are carried out based on Article B-3.4. Payment
for structure excavation will be carried out in accordance with the unit price per cubic
meter listed in the Quantity and Price List in accordance with Article B-3.4.

2B-19.3 Backfill
Measurements must be carried out in accordance with Article B-5 and payments will be
made based on the unit price per cubic meter listed in the Quantity and Price List.

2B-19.4 Landfill and Gravel Metalling


There is no payment for earth embankment and gravel metalling work on road approach
roads for bridges, culverts, because this work must be included in soil embankment and
gravel metalling work for canal work and inspection roads.

2B-19.5 Grass Thickness


No payment was made for the work of sodding on the construction works, as this work
was part of the earthworks for the inspection canal and road.

2B-19.6 Concrete Works


Concrete, rebar and concrete forms for structures, except for precast concrete and piles,
km and hm stakes must be measured and paid in accordance with Articles C-10, C-11 and
C-12. Measurements and payments for the construction of concrete joints, namely PVC
waterstops, joint fillers, and dowel bars, must be carried out based on Articles H-4, H-5
and H-6.
While concrete pipes and concrete piles must be measured and paid for in accordance with
Articles C-15.1 and E-11.

2B-19.7 Stone Work


Measurement of masonry work for structures, strengthening/protection of cliffs and others
is measured in cubic meters and paid based on the unit price of Type-B masonry work
listed in the Quantity and Price List.
Plaster and broadcasts for masonry work are measured in square meters and paid based on
the unit price per square meter listed in the Quantity and Price List.
For riprap, stone gabions, bare stone foundations, sand-gravel and gravel filters must be
measured and paid according to Articles D-3, D-4, D-5, D-7 and D-8 respectively based
on the unit price per meter cubic, per square meter listed in the Quantity and Price List.
There is no measurement and payment for gravel metalling work, and ungraded sand and
gravel bedding for road oprit because it has been taken into account in the work concerned
for inspection road repairs.

2B-19.8 Watergates, Lifting Equipment and Equipment


Water gates, lifting equipment and equipment installed at the work site must be measured
and paid for in accordance with Article G-1.13.

2B-19.9 Wooden Block Beams


Wooden insulation blocks must be measured and paid for in accordance with Article H-

Iron work for structures and iron pipes for railings or bridges is measured and paid
according to Articles H-2.2 and H-2.3 based on the unit price per meter of length stated in
the List of Quantity and Prices.
Bridge bearings and expansion joints for bridges must be measured and paid for in
accordance with Articles H-2.4 and H-2.5, based on the unit price listed in the Quantity
and Price List..

2B-19.11 PVC pipe


Measurement of PVC pipe must be carried out in accordance with Article H-7 and
payment is made based on the unit price per meter of length according to the diameter of
the PVC pipe listed in the List of Quantity and Prices for pipes with perforations or not.

2B-19.12 Valves and Weep Holes


Measurement of PVC pipes for weep holes with ball valves or without ball valves and
PVC valves for under drains is carried out in accordance with Article H-8.7, and payments
are made based on the unit price per piece listed in the Quantity and Price List.

2B-19.13 Km and Hm Stakes


Measurement and payment of stakes km and hm stakes hm is carried out based on the
number of stakes installed along the inspection road in accordance with PPK orders.
Payment is made based on the unit price per km and hm stakes listed in the List of
Quantities and the calculated price includes costs for the supply, transportation,
installation, painting of km and hm stakes. Meanwhile, payments for excavation and
backfill for the installation of stakes will be made separately based on the unit price in the
Quantity and Price List..

2B-19.14 Measuring board or ruler


The cost for the provision and installation of measuring boards must be made based on
Article H-11, in accordance with the unit price per meter long listed in the List of Quantity
and Prices.
There is no payment for nameplates on each structure and painting of iron pipes for bridge
railings.
