Songs are a type of art whose beauty is agreed upon around the world. As the song’s

lyrics, melody, and music express the singer’s joy , or the happy state he is experiencing, such as

victory, a romantic love story, or the joy of success, but on the other hand, the songs may have

sad feelings , and their words are realistic about events that occurred from the singer . As in the

song “My Happy Ending “ by Avril Lavigne , and “ Allah Maak Ya Hawana “ by Fairouz ,both

songs were sung by a girl ,and both talk about a love story that ended, also about a separation

that occurred between couples, so both songs have sad feelings . While the two songs “My

Happy Ending “ by Avril Lavigne , and “ Allah Maak Ya Hawana “ by Fairouz are similar in

terms of separation, there are differences in the reason for the separation , and in the desire to

preserve memories in each song.

The reasons for the separation differs from “My Happy Ending “ and “ Allah Maak Ya

Hawana” .In the first song they broke up due to fake feelings, the guy was acting and giving

illusory feelings, and because she didn't receive help or he stayed with her when she fell and got

into trouble . As she sang , “It's nice to know that you were there / Thanks for acting like you

cared / Thanks for watching as I fall “ . In this verse, Lavigne said exactly why they broke up,

due to his lack of interest ,and giving fake feelings, so these are the reasons for separation that

made her sing this song . On the contrary, Fayrouz was immersed in a beautiful love story, and

the love was mutual on both sides, but the separation occurred because of fate ,and the separation
it carried due to the circumstances surrounding the two parties . For example, she says,

“Goodbye [May God be with you], our love, the thing that made us separate “. This part is an

admission that circumstances are the cause of separation .

In addition to the difference in the reason for the separation in the two songs .The two songs

differ in the singer’s desire to preserve the details of love, and the memory of their love story. In

the song “My Happy Ending “ by Lavigne, she doesn’t want to keep her memories with her

partner ,or to remember their memories together , even she does not want anyone to remember

them ,all the memories the singer had faded away . As she says in a clip in her song, “All of the

memories, so close to me, just fade away” . That is like an explanation ,that she forgot her

memories and disappeared, so she does not keep her memories any more . However, Fayrouz has

the desire to remember her love story and do not forget it, she also wants people to remember

their love story and not forget it. Like when she says that “Tomorrow, when lovers are

remembered, remember us too/Remember us, remember us, keep remembering us” . when

people remember stories of love and loved ones, Fayrouz wants people to remember her love

story .

In a nutshell , the two songs “My Happy Ending “ by Lavigne , and “ Allah Maak Ya

Hawana “ by Fairouz , show diversity in the reason of separation in each relationship , besides

the two singer's desire to preserve and maintain their memories . In Lavigne’s song she broke up

because of one side neglect and she doesn’t want to keep her memories with her partner , unlike

Fayrouz, she broke up because of the fate , and she has the desire to keep her memories with her
ex boyfriend . listening to Fayrouz’s song makes my mood better than the other one , it relaxes

my mix thought specially at the morning , and there is no words can describe how beautiful her

voice is .
