    Dear Mother My Missing Shoe

    Dear mother, your love is special, I looked for you by the front door

    I cannot help but show. Under my bed,

    Like flowers in a garden, On the bathroom floor,

    Your love makes me grow. Near the back stairs,

    In the drawer with my socks,

    Next to the table,


    You sew the buttons on my clothes

    You give me a hankie for my nose and out in the sandbox

    You make good things for me to eat My mother is calling me,

    You buy me candy for a treat And I’m calling you
