1. WHAT IS
The Greenhouse Effect

Climate change is caused by the increasing concentration of greenhouse gases in the

atmosphere, which trap heat and cause the planet to warm up.

Polar ice caps

The warming of the planet is causing the polar ice caps to recede, which is contributing to
rising sea levels.

Natural Disasters
The increased frequency and intensity of natural disasters, such as hurricanes, floods and
wildfires.

Global Warming
Global warming refers to the long-term increase in the planet's average temperature.

2.IMPACT
Change in Rainfall Patterns
Climate change is altering the patterns of rainfall across the planet, leading to more frequent
droughts in certain regions and flooding in others.

Sea Level Rise

Sea levels are rising, which is flooding some places and there are saltwater intrusion in
coastal habitats.

3.CAUSES
Deforestation
When forests are cleared or destroyed, it releases the carbon stored in trees, vegetation and
soil back into the atmosphere.

Industrial Activities
Factories, power plants, and transportation make amounts of greenhouse gases to the
atmosphere.

Fossil Fuels
When we burn oil, coal or gas, it releases harmful pollutants and lots of greenhouse gases into
the atmosphere.

4.EFFECTS
Threatened Species
Climate change is causing many species, especially polar bears and
penguins, to face significant challenges to their survival.

Droughts and Desertification

Global warming is leading to a decline in soil quality and productivity, which is creating
deserts and drying out pastures.

5.CONCLUSION
The time to act is now. We must take action to stop climate change before it’s too late. We
need to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels, protect our forests and natural habitats, and be
better with the planet. Let's all come together to make the world a better place for future
generations
