GLOBAL WARMING IS THE BIGGEST THREAT WE ARE FACING

Global warming is a phenomenon where the earth‘s average temperature rises due to
increased greenhouse gases.Greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, methane,CFSs
and ozone trap the incoming radiation from the sun.Global warming is a threat because
the temperature will be so high that we can‘t survive and die.The change of rain patterns
and increased evaporation, increasing the likelihood of droughts.

As greenhouse gas emissions blanket the earth, they trap the sun‘s heat. This leads to
global warming and climate change. Generating electricity by burning fossils such as
coal and oil causes a large chunk of global emissions. When food is manufactured,
fossils are burnt. Cutting down forests to create farms or pastures or for other reasons
such as to make furniture and so on,causes emissions when trees are cut down, they
release carbon dioxide they have been storing. Since forests absorb carbon
dioxide ,destroying them also limits nature‘s ability to keep emissions out of the
atmosphere. Most cars, lorries, ships and planes run on fossil fuels. That makes
transportation a major contributor of greenhouse gases especially carbon dioxide
emissions. Growing crops can also have impact on global warming, like when using
fertilisers and manure. Cattle produce methane, a powerful greenhouse gas.

Warmer temperatures overtime are changing weather patterns and disrupting the usual
balance of nature. This poses many risks to human beings and all other form of life on
earth. Nearly all land areas are seeing more hot days and heat waves. Higher
temperatures increase heat-related illnessesand can make it more difficult to work and
move around. Wildfires start more easily and spread more rapidly when conditions are
hot. Changes in temperature cause change in rainfall. This results in more servere and
frequent storms. They cause flooding and landslides destroying homes and communities.
Water is becoming scarcer in many regions. Droughts can stir destructive sand and dust
storms that can move billions of tons of sand across continents. Deserts are expanding
reducing land for growing food. The ocean soaks up most of the heat form global
warming. This melts ice sheets and rises sea level threatening coastal and island
communities. The ocean also absorbs carbon dioxide, keeping it form the atmosphere.
More carbon dioxide makes the ocean more acidic, which endanger marine life. Global
warming poses risk to the survival of species on land and in the ocean. These risks
increase as temperature climb. Changes in climmate and increases in extreme weather
events are among the reasons behind a global rise in hunger and poor nutrition.
Fisheries crops and livestock may be destroyed or become less productive. Changing
weather patterns are expanding diseases and malaria. Extreme weather events increase
disease and death. This make it difficult for health care system to keep up.

Everyone can help opposing the power of global warming. Form the way we travel to
the electricity we use and food we eat. Much of our electricity is powered by coal, oil and
gas. Use less energy by lowering your heating and cooling. When you use less energy at
home, the chemicals used to be brunt to create electricity will be lowered too and the
opposition of global warming will happen. If your home electricity is made from coal, try
using or install renewable energy at home. The world‘s roads are clogged with vehicles,
most of them burning diesel or petrol . Walking or riding a bike instead of driving will
reduce greenhouse gas emission. Aeroplanes burn large amounts of fossil fuels,
producing significant greenhouse gas emissions. Meaning taking fewer flights is one of
the fastest ways to reduce environmental impact.
