Introduction
The global temperature has been changing constantly through the past years. The main reason of
this change is the variation in the amount of solar energy falling on the surface of the Earth; due
to the subtle changes that occur in its orbit. Over time, another phenomenon began to affect the
Earth's climate, this phenomenon is called global warming. This term means the unusual and
continuous increase in global temperature caused by the retention of greenhouse gases in the
Earth's atmosphere. Because of the dangers of this phenomenon and its impact on the surface of
the earth. There is a serious impact of this problem in many aspects, such as the environmental,
health and economic, may be short-term or long-term, but it remains negative and dangerous to
society. The factors causing this phenomenon are still increasing, what makes it become the
concern of many environmental scientists, geologists, and meteorologists.

Causes of global warming.

The main cause of global warming is increased greenhouse gases and their retention in the
atmosphere, such as methane and carbon dioxide. These gases collect and form a cover on earth.
This cover absorbs the sun’s heat, and other heats resulting from various industrial processes
therefor preventing them from exiting into outer space, which leads to high temperatures. There
are many factors that cause global warming, some of which occur naturally like volcanoes,
resulting in high greenhouse gas rates. But most of these factors are due to the wrong behavior of
humans, including the frequent use of Non renewable energy sources such as coal and petroleum
Especially with industrial progress, leading to a high percentage of greenhouse gas pollution, the
most important is carbon dioxide. Also cutting forests and removing green areas to convert them
into residential areas or for the purpose of setting up industrial projects, leading to a shortage of
natural source of air purifier. Studies have also confirmed that the amount of carbon dioxide in
the atmosphere increased by 30% than it was before the industrial revolution. The concentration
of methane also doubled over what it was before the industrial revolution. Nuclear fertilization is
also a cause of global warming, resulting in large amounts of hazardous gases that harm nature
and organisms. Also, ozone layer corrosion due to natural pollutants. The ozone layer protects the

earth from infrared and ultraviolet radiations. Thereby increasing the reach of these harmful
radiations to the Earth.

Impact of global warming

Global warming has a major impact with extreme climatic fluctuations such as high temperatures,
leading to high evaporation of rivers and oceans in the tropics. Evaporation of these quantities of
water leads to heavy clouds and as a result precipitation and flooding occurs in the western
regions. On the contrary, severe cases of droughts occur in the eastern regions1. The occurrence
of floods leads to an increase in the number of human deaths. Global warming also contributes to
the spread of diseases and germs that are produced and transmitted by insectivores that live and
grow in high temperature environments such as mosquitoes that transmit malaria and some
polluted insects to water and food, causing food poisoning, allergies, gastrointestinal diseases,
liver diseases and skin diseases. High temperatures caused by global warming lead to the spread
of forest fires, resulting in the rise of carbon dioxide. The melting of the polar regions leads to an
increase of dissolved water to the surrounding seas and oceans, resulting in an increase in their
level which causes floods in coastal cities. It also leads to the disappearance of most freshwater
sources as a result of the transformation of the low lakes into sea bays. Global warming also
affects the quality of agricultural crops. Some of the crops needed by humans disappear because
of high temperatures. Some of these crops require moderate temperatures, which are difficult to
grow because of the constant rise in earth’s temperature due to global warming.

Impact of climate change on different environment sectors in the UAE

Climate change happens when new weather patterns appear because of changes in earth’s climate
order for a long period of time. The climate system gets almost all the energy from the sun, and
with a little energy contribution from earth’s interior. The balance between outgoing and
incoming energy determines if the earth is experiencing cooling or heating. Climate change
affects the environmental sectors in the UAE in many ways. Firstly, the UAE has around 1300
kilometers of coastline (El-Fadel & Bou-Zeid, 2009), climate change will result in higher sea

level which can be dangerous for people, cities, and the oil industry in the gulf. Secondly, human
health can be affected by climate change because of the negative impact that the heat will cause
therefor spreading diseases as well. Thirdly, climate change will force animals and plants to
change their normal habitats to a different place, some of these creatures will not able to handle
this change and will go extinct. Fourthly, agriculture is going to be seriously affected by higher
temperatures. This could lead to global food shortages and locally grown foods would become
very rare to find. Lastly, the supply of water, the most important resource will be limited. The gap
in water availability will be expanded. Climate change is a global issue and the UAE
environment is very largely affected by this change.

Recommendations to mitigate human contribution to global warming.

Climate change adaptation is an act against global warming. The government and environment
authorities of UAE are seeking to adopt this response to avoid the causes and impacts of global
warming. The recommendations to the adaptation of climate change which can lead to the
reduction of the danger and the consequences of climate change are as follows. First, industrial
areas should be in more secure locations and away from the cities and Population groups. Second,
municipalities in the UAE must landscape restoration and plant trees and flowers. Plants
contribute to the reduction of temperatures. Third, the infrastructures should be built in a flexible
way to be able to resist natural catastrophes. Fourth, establish research and development facilities
to investigate catastrophes and temperature behavior. Fifth, preventive measures such as
evacuation plans and preparing hospitals to handle natural disasters. In addition, the mitigation
measures can be taken to dodge any increase of "Toxic emissions". The measures are as follows.
First, every individual should practice efficiency in using energy. Second, depend more on the
use of renewable energy. Third, efficient usage of transportation such as using electric public
transport, using bicycles and share cars with friends and colleagues. Forth, the government could
implement the carbon tax, and it’s a very good way to reduce the people usage of carbon
practices and use other ways to avoid these taxes. Moreover, being a green user will be very
rewarding on the long term. Fifth, monitor greenhouses and set emissions limits, and issue a
heavy fine for violators. Lastly, spread awareness between the people and let them know how
vulnerable the earth is, and how dangerous climate change is.

Conclusion
Scientists who are concerned in this subject agree on the need to work to reduce the high
temperature before it is too late by addressing the reasons that lead to this phenomenon and take
necessary actions to reduce this problems growth. It affects greatly the environment, health,
economy, and society. These include natural factors and factors resulting from industrial or
harmful human activities, both of which lead to the emission of greenhouse gases in the
atmosphere and the occurrence of global warming. Each country should contribute to solve this
problem by raising awareness of sound environmental practices .The UAE is a clear example of
these countries who know the seriousness of this problem and are attempting to reduce them in
various ways, such as constantly providing financial support by spending huge amounts in order
to stop harming the environment.
