LESSON 4

Guray, Jianne Christine T.

BSEDEN 4-1D

1. How can diagnosing learning difficulties help prepare teachers and students for remedial
teaching and learning?

- It helps to identify the weakness or difficulties of the learners, and it also

helps to prevent the occurrence or recurrence of difficulties or problems.
Discouragement and discrimination are should not be shown in doing the
remedial class. It helps the teacher for remedial class because it gives an
idea to the teacher on what strategies and techniques should do in doing a
remedial class.

2. In what way does a teacher have both freedom and limitations in adapting remedial
teaching to the curriculum?

- Teachers have the freedom of choosing any strategies or techniques in

executing their lessons if there is no discouragement and discrimination upon
delivering the lesson. Teachers are always being considerate since it is a
remedial class, but everything should be in control that learners will still be
able to have growth and personal development that is seen after the
assessment.

3. Compare and contrast the setting of environment in a remedial class, to that of an

ordinary classroom.

- Remedial class should be a well-designed learning environment because it

helps to maintain pupils' attention and interest in learning. While the ordinary
class is can be done in just a regular classroom with a lot of the number of
students. But remedial class is exclusive for only a few learners. Seat
arrangements of pupils should be flexible to meet specific teaching and for
the group activities unlike from the ordinary class, everyone can sit whenever
the wanted. Lastly, the materials that are given to the remedial class is very
important because it gives more motivation to the learners.
LESSON 4
4. Which of the first three strategies can be difficult to carry out in our classroom setting?
Why?

- The support program, because sometimes learners are too shy in front of the
class. And sometimes they don’t have enough support to reinforce them
outside the class. They only have their teachers inside the class who can
watch over them, assist them but outside class, there is no one to help the
learners. It is difficult for us teachers because our help alone is not enough to
fulfill our learners’ needs
