Narrative Report on International Day of Mathematics
School Year 2022-2023
“Everyone needs mathematics in every aspect of their life. It is not only for specialized professional
issues; it is not only for those who have a supposed gift. It is for everyone, every day.” - Fin McLaughlin
As we all know, March 14 is also celebrated around the world as Pi Day. Pi is approximately 3.14, and
the date is written as 3/14 in some countries, and we at Rizal Elementary School, one of the schools in Surigao
del Sur, observed DM Order No. 174, Section 2023, which promotes the observance of the International Day of
Mathematics with the theme "Mathematics for Everyone" on March 14, 2023.
The official opening program
began despite the torrential downpour
with the singing of the Philippine
National Anthem through a multimedia
presentation and a prayer by our
catholic leader, Mrs. Warlyngenn A.
Verano, teacher I and Grade IIB Adviser.
Mrs. Janice C. Rejas, President of the School Parents-
Teachers Association, gave a warm welcome.
Our School Math Coordinator, Ms.
Claudine B. Cornita, elaborated on the history
and importance of celebrating Mathematics in
our daily lives in a statement of purpose.

It was followed by an inspirational message from our active Head Teacher III, Ma’am Albina V. Cabiilin,
in the person of our curriculum expert, Ma'am Sandra Eva F. Bulabog,
Master Teacher I, Grade I Adviser. Then, a brief orientation was given
on the different activities to be done simultaneously. Facilitators, room
assignments, rubrics, scoring sheets, tabulation, and materials to be
used were all announced, as were the papers that facilitators and
participants would need to complete after the activities were
completed. Without further ado, the following events took place out
simultaneously in their respective
room assignments: the Math Quiz for Higher Grade, which was facilitated at
the school stage by Grade VI advisers, Mr. Jo-Fiel R. Bautista and Mr. Redfield V. Lozano. The Math Quiz
for Lower Grade was facilitated by
Grade III Advisers, Ms. Judelyn C.
Verano and Mrs. Arcelle A. Janozo at Grade IIB - Tecson
Room, the Math Cartooning Higher
Grade facilitated by Mrs. Ma. Elenita
M. Tecson, Grade II Adviser, and
the Math Cartooning Lower Grade
facilitated by Mrs. Jennifer E. Palin
at her classroom.
The Rubics Cube, which was
played with a timer, was facilitated by
Mrs. Leah M. Alibangbang, a
kindergarten teacher for the higher
grade, in her classroom, and Mrs. Sandra Eva F. Bulabog, a Grade I adviser for the lower grade. Soduko
Games was facilitated by Mrs. Lorena A. Janozo, a Grade V adviser for the higher grade, and Mrs. Warlyngenn
A. Verano, a Grade II adviser for the lower grade.
The activities were completed by 11:30 p.m. In the late

afternoon, Mrs. Lorena A. Janozo, Grade V adviser and master of
ceremonies, immediately began the closing program with a short
energizer led by the faculty and staff. Following the announcement
of the winner, Mr.Jo-Fiel R. Bautista, Grade VI adviser, announced
the winners of the various competitions at the same time, The SPTA
President, Mrs.Janice C. Rejas, her vice president, Mrs. Diaz, the
Master Teacher, Mrs. Sandra Eva F. Bulabog and Ms. Claudine B.
Cornita, the School Math Coordinator, assisted in awarding certificates of commendation to the winners.
As the program ended
formally, a short dance presentation
of Galaw Philippines was led by the
school faculty and staff and the
pupils, who danced lively and
gracefully. Then it was followed by a
closing prayer by Mrs. Ma. Elenita M.
Tecson, a Grade II adviser. Overall,
the celebration was successfully
completed without further distraction.
