Question 1 (20 Marks)

Figure 1.0 showed a simple circuit of controllable speed motor. The maximum resistance value of R is 5k. In other hand, internal resistance for DC motor far smaller than R which is 100. The relationship between motor speed and resistance value of point a and point c, Rac is showed by Table 1.0

i) Calculate voltage across point a and point c, Vac by using Figure 1.0 and Table 1.0 for each of the speed. (5M) ii) Calculate IM that flowing to DC motor for each of the speed. (5M) iii) Draw IM-Speed curve by using answer in i) and ii). (5M) iv) Explain the relationship between IM and speed of motor and give one daily application that uses the same concept in Figure 1.0. (5M)

Figure 3.0 Figure 3.0 demonstrated a two voltage source connected in apposite polarity, i) Determine the total resistance, RT. (5M) ii) Find out I2 that flowing from point B to A. (2M) iii) Power dissipated by R3. (3M) iv) If R1, R2, and R3 are replace by three bulbs, which have the same value of internal resistance. What happen to two others bulb if one of the bulb is burn out and give a reason. (5M)
