Hadith of Silaturrahmi
‫صلَّى هَّللا ُ عَل ْي ِه َو َسلَّ ْم‬
َ ِ ‫ال َرسُوْ ُل هَّللا‬ َ َ‫ ق‬: ‫ال‬ ِ ِ‫ ع َْن اَنَسْ اب ِْن َمال‬:
َ َ‫ك ق‬
ُ‫صلْ َر ِح َمه‬ ِ َ‫ فَ ْلي‬، ‫ َوَأ ْن يُ ْن َسَأ لَهُ فِي َأثَ ِر ِه‬، ‫َم ْن َأ َحبَّ َأ ْن يُ ْب َسطَ لَهُ فِي ِر ْزقِ ِه‬
From Anas bin Malik R.a. said, Rasulullah SAW. Said, “Anyone want to add his rizki and
lengthen his age, then let him silaturrahmi “(Narrator Bukhari – Muslim.)

Prerequisite Question

Why is silaturrahmi important?

Basically all human beings are brothers, namely brothers and sisters of Allah SWT who
have the same duties and obligations, namely to worship Allah SWT. Allah SWT does
not expect fellow beings to divorce each other, become hostile to each other, because it
will have an impact on the ubudiyah process to Allah SWT.

1. Examine about spiritual silaturrahmi and physical silaturrahmi!

spiritual silaturrahmi: connect brotherhood between fellow human by pray, tawassul,
read dzikir, read shalawat to Prophet Muhammad SAW
physical silaturrahmi: connect brotherhood between fellow human by face to face, by
phone/ video call
2. Compare the advantages & disadvantages of Silaturrahmi by using social media!
In the digital era, anything can be done instantly. The sophistication(kecanggihan) of
technology sometimes makes people defeat(mengalahkan) the syar’i of Islam.
Silaturrahim through social media there are several advantages; easy to connect if
there is internet quota, cheap of cost, and it does not take long
and disadvantages including; Minimizing the gathering of all family members offline
which can reduce intimacy(intim/dekat)
3. Conclude about the meaning of the phrase "Many friends, many brothers"!
The more friends the more brothers, if friends in faith and in the same religion. Because you
are not only limited in this world but also in the hereafter. Silaturrami can add rizki. its mean
that rizki is easy to get if we have good relation with other and so on and will thrive became
trust and amanah. Sillaturrahmi can extend the life. its mean the result of research published
by Public Library of Science are the people with good social relationships more longevity
compared people who is lazy to do Silaturrahmi, because people who closer with us
emotionally, to make we can to face the stressing of life, something that is known can cause
death if we are unable to deal with it.
4. How are your efforts if your relative does not admit(mengakui) you as his relative,
because economic differences?
  Silaturrahim is not limited by the dimensions of space and time (during holidays
only) but Islam teaches whenever and wherever to do silaturrahim, because in the
silaturrahim there is mutual forgiveness of one another or the potential sins of
fellow human are removed by Allah SWT
 As human, we can not differentiate between economic status, because in the side of
Allah, we are only seen as piety.

5. The essence of silaturrahmi is to establish good relations with anyone. How do you
make yourself always apply silaturrahmi in everyday life?
 Aware that silaturrahmi can remove sin
 Respect each other
 Visit to family, to friend who are sick
 Don’t bully your friend
