We form the Past Continuous Tense with the past of BE + the ING form of the main verb
Past Continuous Tense expresses an uncompleted action and requires another action to give a complete
sense.
The children were doing their homework when my cousins got home.

We were watching the report when the electricity turned off.
I was having a shower and the telephone rang.
