PAST CONTINUOUS TENSE.

We form the Past Continuous Tense with the past of BE + the ING form of the main verb

I was studying Algebra

You were listening to music
He was reading an interesting book
She was training tennis
It was flying on the sky
We were waiting for Judy
You were watching that t.v. program
They were buying some bananas

Past Continuous Tense expresses an uncompleted action and requires another action to give a complete
sense.
 The children were doing their homework when my cousins got home.
 Claire was waiting for a taxi and Charles gave her a ride.
 We were watching the report when the electricity turned off.
 I was having a shower and the telephone rang.
 While you were chatting, your brother set up the table.
