CHAPTER III

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

This research uses the qualitative design of the study to evaluate the satisfaction of the

OJT students of Aldersgate College Inc. of Solano, Nueva Vizcaya under the College of

Tourism and Hospitality Management. The method is designed for the researcher to

gather information on the performance of the trainees in terms of interns’ knowledge,

skills and attitude, and personality

To solve academic concerns of national and global importance, the higher education

system must focus on structural changes to improve and expand the competitiveness of

its products and services.

The purpose of this study is to examine how effectively Aldersgate College Inc.'s OJT

students in Solano, Nueva Vizcaya, fared in the College of Tourism and Hospitality

Management. The approach is designed to provide the researcher with data about trainee

performance in terms of knowledge, skills, attitude, and personality.

The focus of the higher education system should be on structural improvements that will

enhance and increase the competitiveness of their products and services, while also

addressing academic problems on a national and worldwide scale.


Research Design

This study employs a qualitative research design to assess how well Aldersgate

College Inc.'s OJT students in Solano, Nueva Vizcaya, performed in the College of

Tourism and Hospitality Management. The technique is intended to allow the researcher

to compile data on trainee performance in terms of knowledge, skills, attitude, and

personality.

The focus of the higher education system should be on structural changes that will

improve and heighten the competitiveness of their output and services while addressing

the academic concerns that are important on a national and international scale.

Research Locale

Our research will be held at Aldersgate College Inc., Solano Nueva Vizcaya, 3709

Description of Respondents/Students (Participants)

The performance evaluation reports of all BSTM and BSHM students who were

enrolled in their OJT/Practicum will be included in the study.


Instruments to Be Used

The tools in this study will be the self-assessment form for students that have

undergone to internship to evaluate their performance on the training they accomplished,

they will be judged by them as the On-the-Job Trainees after their 600 - hours of training.

The College of Hospitality Management will give these questionnaires as the tools to

complete this paper. The following scale will be used to interpret the evaluation tool's

results: SATISFIED OR UNSATISFIED

Table 2 indicates that the amount of orientation received by the students
before their placement has the highest possible result. This implies that students’
preparedness may rely on the internship office’s support and facilitation on their
pre-needs.

Data gathering procedure

Regarding the data required for this study, the researchers will produce a request

letter to be delivered to the Dean of the College of College Business, Management and

Accountancy to request permission for copies of the data of the Tourism and Hospitality

Management student trainees in the school year 2012-2022. The researchers will float

series of questionnaires answerable through “Satisfied or Unsatisfied” to HTM students

who have undergone practicum.


Treatment of Data

The questions will be designed to assess the performance of Tourism and

Hospitality Management students who have completed their On-The-Job training. The

assessment tool data will be evaluated using grades, remarks, and ranks to establish the

degree of performance of OJT interns from the Tourism and Hospitality Management

batch 2012-2022. The following Likert scale will be used to interpret the evaluation tool's

results: SATISFIED AND UNSATISFIED. The scale will be used to interpret the intern's

Knowledge, Skills, Attitude, and Personality toward their OJT evaluation tool outcomes.
