CA3 Submission Template

Document the results of your in-class discussions as a group and submit it to your tutor by the end
of the week (Sun, 23:59). Your tutor will advise on the mode of the submission (Teams, email, etc).

General aspect

Technical aspect

(This section is usually relevant only after your group has decided on the problem to solve, i.e. you
have completed the general aspect.)

Document all your discussions on technical aspect of the problem here. Some examples include:
 For the AI application that I have chosen, how does it work? (You can describe the big
picture or in detail)
 What kind of data does it need?
 Why do you think the application is intelligent? Is it adaptive or autonomous? Does it
learn and get better as time progresses?
 Is the AI application using machine learning? What kind of ML technique is it:
classification, regression, etc
 Where are the sources from where I found the technical information of the AI
application? Are they credible? Is it from a blog, discussion forum, news article, research
paper, company website, ChatGPT? Who published this information?
 Sometimes, things are not smooth sailing. You may have decided on an AI application, but
then you realised you cannot find satisfactory technical information and would like to
change your problem statement. That is OK. Just ensure you also document it, if indeed it
happens.

Social aspect

Document all your discussions on social aspect of the problem here. Some examples include:
 How does the AI application benefit users? Who will benefit? Is it only the users, or also
the government, AI companies, etc? Be as specific as possible, considering various
stakeholders.
 What kind of data does the AI application need? Does it need any sensitive (personal or
confidential) data?
 Are there any concerns if the AI application is widely used?
 Are there any bias, privacy issues, or other ethical issues?
 Are there any other societal impacts in any ways?
 Is this AI application cheap or expensive to create and deploy?
 How does this AI application address the SDG problem that you have identified in the first
place?
