INTRODUCTION

Education is not limited to the four walls of a classroom; it extends beyond

textbooks and lecture. To foster a holistic learning experience, embarking on an

educational tour to Cebu’s industrial companies was an eye-opening experience for

us. The unique journey allowed us to delve into the world of entrepreneurship,

innovation, and production, as we explored the operations of renowned companies

such as Interior Crafts of the Islands, Inc. (Kenneth Cobonpue), Magic Melt Foods

Inc., FPD Food International Inc., Zai Design Hive and Green Coil Industries, Inc.

With the thirst for knowledge and desire to witness firsthand the inner workings of

these successful enterprises, we eagerly ventured into the bustling industrial

landscape of Cebu.

Cebu, known as the Queen City of the South, has emerged as a thriving hub

of economic activity, with a reputation for producing quality products that resonate

with both local and international markets. Our educational tour aimed to provide us

with insights into the processes, technologies, and the business strategies that have

propelled these companies to achieve remarkable success.

In this narrative report, we will recount our captivating journey as we explored

the production facilities of Magic Melt, 7D Mangoes, Green Coil, Zai Design and

Kenneth Cobonpue’s Showroom as well as the Seminar on the Roles of BSP held at

the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Cebu Regional Office.

KENNETH COBONPUE

Kenneth Cobonpue (born December 16, 1968) is a Filipino industrial

designer known for his unique designs integrating natural materials through

innovative handmade production processes. He began his career after his studies in

Industrial Design in New York, which led him to apprenticeships and further studies in

Italy and Germany. Cobonpue pioneered the integration of design, manufacturing

and global distribution as well as branding in Cebu, operating his headquarters on

the island.
