Depsolube® ACA

Speciality emulsifier and friction controller

Summary
Depsolube® ACA is an excellent emulsifier with anti-crease properties that eliminates
problems associated with difficulty in removal of oils, fats, silicone and wax from yarn and
fabric made from cellulose, polyester, polyamide, elastane blends.

Advantages
ƒ Fabric without spot stains or creases.
ƒ Additional anti-crease agents need not be added.
ƒ Applicable in pre-treatment, dye bath and after treatment.
ƒ No restraining effect.
ƒ No unpleasant fumes during drying.
ƒ Higher machine loading at shorter liquor ratios.
ƒ Suitable for all types of equipment, including jet and package dyeing machines.
ƒ Makes possible scour-dye techniques on 100% polyester.
ƒ Enhances the heat setting efficiency making fabric more stable for processing.
ƒ Improves stain removal after heat setting, particularly on difficult fibre types like micro
fibres or elastane blends.

Features
ƒ Promotes optimum fabric-to-machine and yarn-to-yarn frictions to prevent rope marks,
creasing, abrasion, chafing and barre for almost all types of substrates made from
cellulosic, polyester, polyamide, micro fibre and elastane blends.
ƒ Promotes opening of the fabric rope and displacement of folds.
ƒ Acts as an excellent emulsifying agent for residual oils, waxes, silicone and fats,
preventing spots resulting from such impurities.
ƒ As it is extremely stable to alkali (300g/l caustic soda) and to high electrolyte
concentration, it is ideal for application of all dyes on cellulosic fibres and their blends.
ƒ The excellent emulsifying and soil suspending properties make Depsolube® ACA an
efficient scour-dye agent with disperse dyes on 100% polyester.
ƒ The lubrication effect can be used in heat setting to improve the efficiency of setting.
ƒ The emulsifying properties prevent oils and stains from burning into fabric during setting.

Storage
Stable when stored under normal climatic conditions.

blends with cotton, nylon or polyester and micro fibres or micro fibre
blends.

Depsolube® ACA as an emulsifier and anti-crease agent

Add Depsolube® ACA 0.5 to 1.0 g/l to each hot bath, i.e. pre-scour

normal circumstances. Rinse once at 70oC.

Cotton dyeing should follow, using Depsolube® ACA and Lanapex®

HTS (sequestering agent) in the dye bath.

HEAT SETTING
Synthetic based fabrics are often heat set before dyeing, to stabilise the
dimensions and reduce creasing, curling and shrinkage during wet
processing. This is a requirement for special fabrics based on elastanes
(e.g. ‘Lycra’) or micro fibres, where control of creasing and dimension
is more difficult.

When fabric is heat set before dyeing, oils, waxes and spin finish agents
can be burnt and set into the fabric, making level dyeing very difficult.
In the case of elastane blends, silicone oil spin finish can run to the
companion fibre and create resist lines.

Depsolube® ACA is ideal for heat setting, as it solves both the

problems.
Depsolube® ACA stops stains from burning into the fabric and
improves the heat setting efficiency.

Application is as follows :-
Pad onto fabric from a hot bath (75oC)

Depsolube® ACA 1% regular synthetics

2% micro fibres
3% elastane / cotton blends
Stretch the fabric to width on a pin frame and dry. When dry, heat set
as required.
Some suggested conditions are :-
Polyester 165oC x 60 minutes or 180oC x 30 minutes
Nylon 6 155oC x 60 minutes or 170oC x 30 minutes
Nylon 66 165oC x 60 minutes
Elastane blends 190oC x 60 minutes or 195oC x 45 minutes

Note:
For pure polyester, an alternative heat setting anti-crease product is Permalose® TM. This
product has many additional advantages for finishing polyester.
