Activity in Mathematics

I. TITLE: A COLLAGE OF MATH (Individual Work)

II. OBJECTIVES:

a. Students will make math connections to real world situations.

III. PROCEDURES:

1. Use a piece of tag board, as your backing to your collage.

2. Choose at least 15 different items related to Mathematics from magazines, newspapers,
etc. Cut the items out and paste them to your tag board. The collage calls for no gaps,
between or around the items in the collage.
3. Number each item on your collage. On a separate sheet of items, identify each item in the
collage, and write an explanation of each items relationship to Mathematics. Attach these
sheet to your collage (8.5 x 13 white bond paper).
4. Use complete sentences, proper grammar, spelling and punctuation.
5. On the back of the collage write your name, date and class period.
