Distribution: Conservative Management vs Surgical Management

Of the 85 patients, 568 (698.124%) were managed surgicallconservativelyy while the

rest (275 or 301.876%) were managed surgicallconservatively1. It is worthy to mention

herenote that most of those who were conservatively surgically managed underwent

exploratory laparostomy.2

Patients’ General Profile, Surgical History, and Management

Among the 25 surgically managed patients, 21 (84.00%) were between 18-60 years old

and 4 (16.00%) were older than 60. Of the 56 who were conservatively managed, 42 (75.00%)

were between 18-60 years old and 14 (25.00%) were older than 60. This indicates that

generally, patients were distributed at about similar percentages in terms of age groups, in both

surgical and conservative management.

In addition, the table shows that of the 25 who were surgically managed, 17 (68.00%)

were males while 8 (32.00%) were females. Meanwhile, among those conservatively managed,

42 (75.00%) were males while 14 (25.00%) were females. As in the case of age groups

distribution discussed in the preceding paragraph, patients were also distributed in terms of sex

in similar proportions between surgical and conservative management
