Clinical Outcomes

The data show that regardless of the management (surgical versus conservative) done,

none of the patients died, i.e., all 815 (100.00%) of them had improved upon discharge. This

can be attributed to many factors, such as effective patient management of the attending

physicians, the circumstances surrounding each of the 85 81 individual cases, and so on. As a
consequence, no test of statistical difference between surgically managed patients and

conservatively managed patients with regard to clinical outcomes can be performed.
