SECTION A
( 2 Marks each)
1. Factorise:
x2
x3 − 2 + x
12 − 1
216
3x + 2 4( x + 1) 2
4. Solve for x: 7 + 5 = 3 (2 x +1)
SECTION B
( 3 Marks each)
5. At a Ramzan Mela, a stall keeper in one of the food stall has
a large cylindrical vessel of base radius 18 cm filled up to a
height of 16cm in with orange juice. The juice is filled in small
cylindrical glasses of radius 3 cm upto the height of 4 cm and
sold for rupees 12 each. How much money does the stall
keeper receive by selling the juice completely?
6. Side QR of Δ PQR is produced to a point S as shown in the
figure. The bisector of ∠P meets QR at T. Prove that
∠PQR + ∠PRS = 2∠PTR
7. If the polynomials 2 x3 + a x2 + 3x -5 and
x3 + x2 − 4 x + a leave the same remainder when divided
by x – 2 , then find the value of a .
8. In the given figure, △PQR is an equilateral triangle with
coordinates of Q and R as (0,5) and (0, -5) respectively.
Find the coordinates of vertex P.
SECTION C
( 4 Marks each)
11. Water tank is getting filled up by water flowing at the rate
of 15 cubic cm/sec .If the volume of water filled in y seconds is
x cubic centimetre .Write the linear equation in two variables to
represent this situation. Draw a graph for the equation formed
and hence find the volume of water filled in 9 seconds.
12.To mark India’s Independence Day, a ceremony in
Kashmir was organised by hoisting the national flag and
singing of patriotic songs along with the exchange of
sweets and greetings. During the lunch break, 21 students

4 cm radius, find the volume of ice cream taken by each
one of them.
ii) If the dimensions of ice-cream brick are 16cm x 8cm x
22 cm , find the volume of ice-cream brick.
iii) How much volume of ice cream is left?
13. In the given figure, ABCD is a parallelogram and
ΔBXC and ΔAYD are such that BX = DY and CX = AY.
Prove that
A. BX II DY
B. XY and BD bisect each other.
