radius of the circle. AC and BD when extended intersect at
a point E. Find AEB .

10 The curved surface area of a right circular cylinder of 3

height 14 cm is 88 cm2. Find the diameter of the base of
the cylinder.
OR

PR – PQ = 2cm.

12 Fifty seeds were selected at random from each of 5 bags of 4

seeds, and were kept under standardized conditions
favorable to germination. After 20 days, the number of
seeds which had germinated in each collection were
counted and recorded
as follows:

What is the probability of germination of

(i) More than 40 seeds in a bag?
(ii) 49 seeds in a bag?
13 CASE STUDY-1 4
Junk food is unhealthy food that is high in calories from
sugar of fat , with little dietary, fiber, protein, vitamin or
other nutrients .if  be the number of students who take
junk food ,  be the number of students who take healthy
food such that    , and  &  are the zeros of quadratic
polynomial f ( x) = x − 9 x + 20 then answer the following
2

(1) Find the number of students who take healthy food?

(2) How many students take junk food?
14 Case Study -2 4
Mohan was doing an experiment to find the radius r of a
sphere. For this he took a cylindrical container with radius R
= 3 cm and height 22cm. He filled the container almost half
by water as shown in the left figure. Now he dropped the
yellow sphere in the container. Now he observed as shown
in the right figure the water level in the container raised from
A to B equal to 4 cm.

(1) Find the radius of the sphere?

(2) How many litres of water can be filled in the
Empty part of the second container after
dropping the ball? (Take 1 litre=1000 cm³).
