의상을 준비한다.
소품: 투구, 칼, 방패

<연출노트>
When curtain go up, there is a vast plain in the background. Geats Warrior 1,
2, 3 and 4 are talking to each other. Beowulf enters from stage right and joins
in the conversation.
Everyone moves to the right and gets on the ship. When lights turn off,
Geats warriors and Beowulf get off the ship and Danes Warrior 1 and 2 enter
from left and greet them. Everyone leaves stage from left.
Narrator: Geats warriors are in their homeland. They are talking about Grendel,
Geats W2: 2 Yes. And I shake from fear. We must tell Beowulf.
Geats W1: 3 Beowulf, a great harm has come upon our friends.
Narrator: They sail across the sea. The king’s men meet them at the sea shore.

When light turn on left of stage, the King and Queen are sitting side by side.
Danes Warrior 1, 2, Beowulf, and Geats Warriors enter from left, and bow to
the King.
Unferth enters from the right and talks to Beowulf and The King and Queen
King: 10 But remember that Grendel is very fierce. He doesn’t even use
weapons.

6) 무대 오른쪽 뒤에는 식탁 이 놓여 있다.
주변에 둘러 선다.
왼쪽으로 퇴장한다.
무대장치
오른쪽으로 달려나간다.
Lights on. Geats Warriors and Beowulf are asleep on the stage floor.
With a loud sound of stomping feet, Grendel enters from right, and eats up
Geats Warrior 4.
Beowulf wakes up at the sound of Grendle gobbling up one of his Geats
Beowulf and Grendel fight and Beowulf rips off Grendel’s arm.
Narrator: Beowulf and his men lie down to sleep in the hall. Grendel comes in
the night. Beowulf sees Grendel grab a warrior and eat him.
Grendel: 19 Ha, Ha, Ha! I ate one warrior. I will eat you too, Beowulf.

악마처럼 웃으며 laughing evilly

뛰어 올라 Grendel의 팔을 잡으며 jumping up and grabbing hold of Grendel’s claw-arm
Narrator: Beowulf and Grendel continue to battle.
Beowulf: 24 I won!

25 He did it! He did it!
He killed the evil monster.

3) G 가 무대 오른 쪽에서 등장하고 누워 있는 G4 옆에 앉아 먹는 연기를
한다.
5) G 도 무대 중앙으로 이동한다.

틀고 효과음을 넣어준다.

오른쪽으로 퇴장한다.
King 에게 보고한다.
Grendel’s Mother takes Geats Warrior 3 and Grendel’s claw-arm, and leaves
from right.
Light turns off, then back on. The King is standing on the left and Beowulf
Narrator: Geats warriors are back at the great hall. They sleep in the hall that
night.
Beowulf: Friends, we can sleep easy tonight. The terror of Grendel is gone.
Good night.
G’s Mother: 33 I’m paying you back for the death of my Grendel.
Narrator: Grendel’s Mother takes the claw of Grendel and one of Beowulf’s
warriors.

전체적으로 조명을 어둡게 하고 Grendel 의 엄마가 등장할 때에 스팟
조명을 해 준다.

Beowulf gets armed with weapons and leaves stage from right as people see
him off.

엄마를 찌른다.
Beowulf enters from right. Grendel’s Mother jumps out from right where she
had been hiding, and violently grabs hold of Beowulf and begins to sing.
Grendel’s Mother throws the sword on the floor, and Beowulf quickly picks up
Beowulf picks up Grendel’s head and leaves the stage from right
Narrator: Beowulf dives into the lake. Suddenly, Grendel’s mother appears.
Song <I’ll Pay You Back>_Grendel’s Mother
Narrator: Grendel’s mother drags Beowulf into her cave. Then Beowulf gets

Narrator: Beowulf swings the sword toward Grendel’s mother. She falls to the
floor dead.

The King walks over to the center from left, and greets Beowulf.
Place the ship on the right while everyone sings. Beowulf and Geats Warriors
Geats W2: But what happened to our warrior that Grendel’s mother took?
Narrator: Beowulf hands Grendel’s head and the giant’s sword hilt to the king.
Beowulf: 58 Good King, here are the Grendel’s head and the giant’s sword.

Narrator: All wave goodbye as Beowulf and his warriors board the ship to sail
back home.

Beowulf was the greatest hero of all.
Narrator: Beowulf and his warriors sailed back to their land. He became king.
Much later when he was very old, he had to fight a fire-breathing dragon.
He saved his people from it. Once again he was a hero. In his life, he fought
