ABSTRACT
• The name of our project is “pipe cleaning and inspection robot” in a nutshell it is a robot that will be
used to clean the interior of the pipes using a brushing mechanism.
• One of the critical areas of the oil and gas industry is the transport of oil and other fluids through a
network of pipes.
• Over time these pipes have accumulated amount of slug and other deposits, this leads to decrease in
pipeline carrying capacity, reduced reliability, loss of power due to higher pumping pressure required
and irregular flow.
• In the light of the problems we solve this problem with the help of the lighting system.
• This will not only clean the interior of the pipe but also be able to send live video feedback to the
personnel on the ground depicting the kind of residues found in the pipes.

INTRODUCTION
➢ Pipe cleaning robot is one of the new concept of professional service robots.
➢ Sewer pipes are typically of non-man-entry classification.
➢ Pipelines have a widely spread applications in industry. Water, sewage, flammable
liquid, high pressure gasses and oil are transported using pipelines.
➢ These pipelines are long, interconnected and may be constructed underground or
underwater. This makes their monitoring, periodic maintenance and repair a hard job
when done by human operators.

LITERATURE SURVEY
➢ Mohammad mmaz sadini(ec.al) : Development of the cleaning device has applied
systemetic engineering design method and movement of the robot will be controlled
by ardino software.
➢ Xin Lin(ec.al) : At present, the physical cleaning has around a 30% share of the
cleaning products (powder) market.
➢ Sharifah Syed(ec.al) : Almost sewage pipes are not accessible for human. The
current state of the art to maintain such pipes uses teleoperated robot platforms.
➢ Mohammed Moustafa(ec.al) : Working locations of in-pipe robots can be the
inside of water pipes or sewer pipes.

MATERIAL USED

➢Poly Vinyl Chloride(PVC) Pipe (1inch) .

METHODOLOGY
✓ Design and development of pipe inspection robot using CAD software.
✓ Fabrication of CAD models by means of manufacturing equipments.
✓ Assembling all the fabricated parts.
✓ Fixing a camera, motors, LEDs and mounting the circuit board onto the
crawler.
✓ Making it to crawl inside a pipe by means of a remote to cleaning the robot
in a monitor.

WORKING
• First place the pipe cleaning and inspection robot in side the pipe.

• Check the battery charge and Wi-Fi camera.

• Then turn on the battery switch and Wi-Fi camera switch.

• Connect the robot with the help of Bluetooth through Bluetooth RC Controller Application.

• Connect the Wi-Fi camera with the help of Wi-Fi through HDWificamPro Application.

• Operate the robot with the help of Bluetooth RC Controller Application.

• Check the dust particals in the HDWificamPro Application.

• Operate the robot until clean the pipe.

CONCLUSION
• This project is successfully designed, implemented and tested.

• The main function for this project was achieved.

• The work performed in this project is to develop a pipe robot for cleaning and inspection.

• For cleaning there are 3 cleaning brushes mounted on the cleaning portion.

• The minimum pipe diameter is 30cm for cleaning.

• The Bluetooth control range is within 100 meter.

• The WiFi range is 91 meter for inspection
