English Skills Competition for IEP M4 Students

(Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing)


Competitions:
1. Reader’s theatre
2. Poster making contest & Slogan Writing
3. Essay writing
4. Story telling
5. Short-film making
6. Comical skit

 4.1 and 4.2 students are combined and divided into 3 groups. All members of each
group must be able to participate to 1 contest.
 Target date of the competitions: September 20, 2022 (Periods 7&8).

Contest details:
1. Reader’s theater (8 members)
- Reader’s theatre is a group technique of reading a story. Readers read from a script
and the parts are divided among the readers. No memorization, costumes, blocking
or special lighting is needed. The focus is on reading the text with expressive voices
and gestures.
- All groups will use the same story which will be provided soon.

2. Poster making contest & Slogan writing (3 members)


- The theme for the contest will be announced soon.

3. Essay Writing (Individual)


- The topic will be announced on the day of the competition.

4. Story Telling (Individual)


- All groups will use the same story piece which will be given soon.

5. Short-film Making (6 members)


- The film must be pre-recorded and the it will be presented on the day of the
competition. Setting must be within the school grounds only.

6. Comical Skit (5 members)


- Each group can choose their own story. The skit must be 5-8 minutes only.
