Chinese New Year Festival 1. It is known as the “Spring Festival,” the longest and the
most important festivity in the Chinese calendar.
Loy Khratong 4. This festival shows respect to Buddha. The name of this
festival is referred to as a basket to float in the river.
Lantern / Yi Peng Festiva 5. Sending Buddha an offering into the sky, the primary
reasons for celebrating this festival are to purify a person's soul and cleanse their
misfortune.
Peking Opera 6. The theater arts of China, is a blend of music, dance, arts,
acrobatic and martial arts.
Kabuki Theater 7. The history of this theater art begins in 1603 when a female
dancer named Okuni began performing a new style of dance drama.
Nhang Puppet Show 9. It is a form of shadow play found in Thailand. The narrative
is told through songs, chants, and music, using puppets made of colorful buffalo leather.
Balinese Dance Festival 10. This festival expresses the stories of dance-drama through
bodily gestures such as gestures of fingers, hands, head, and eyes.

1 Pahiyas- is a traditional celebration in Lucban as thanksgiving for a bountiful
harvest. Decorations called “Kiping”, leaf-shaped and multi-colored rice paste
wafers which are used to decorate the facades of the homes along with the fruits
and flowers from nature.
4 Masskara - This annual festival, which is similar to Brazil’s Rio Carnival, literally
translates to “many faces,” and is celebrated every October in Bacolod. Because
of the smiling faces of the mask, Bacolod City got the nickname of The City of
Smiles.

1. Chinese New Year Festival – This is the longest festival in China known as
Spring Festival. It is celebrated with family, fireworks, and festivities as the
start of a new year. This marks the end of winter and the beginning of the
spring season. This is the most important holiday in China which is celebrated
worldwide.
