looking very frustrated. She asks him to brainstorm ideas for his story. He refuses, saying that he
can’t do it because he doesn’t know how to spell.

Potential teacher’s responses:

1. I would remind him that everyone is expected to be working. I would tell him to use the
dictionary if he doesn’t know how to spell the words. If he doesn’t get started, I would tell
him he can stay in for recess and do it then.

Answer. Technical Level

This teacher advised Naol to use the dictionary, if he doesn’t know how to spell the words. As
well as if he doesn’t get started, he would tell him he can stay in for recess and do it then. So
based up on this, the reflective thinking of this teacher was more concerned on how to develop
the lessons and reach the goals set through coercion and every matter way. Rather than how to
improve the reading and writing story.

2. I would communicate that spelling is not important at this stage. What’s important is to think
of a story that the other students would enjoy reading. I would encourage him to use just the
letters he hears for the words.

content why this student is refused the respond. It analyzed in details the problem of this student.
