HUCKLEBERRY FINN
After Huck and Tom discovered Huck was adopted by the Widow
Huck made a novel in which he told what he
had experienced in the adventures of Tom
Swyer.
Soon after, Huck discovers footprints in the
snow and recognizes them as those of his
violent and abusive father. Huck realizes
that his father, whom he hasn't seen in a
long time, has come back to claim the money
he found.

Huck is caught by his father after
leaving Judge Thatcher, who
forces him to hand over the
dollar, and threatens to beat him
up if he ever goes to school again.

A new judge in town refuses to
separate Huck from his father. He
takes Huck away from the widow's
house and takes him to a log cabin.

immediately surrounded by dogs.
After managing to escape, he is
invited to live with a family called
the Grangerfords.
The woman tells him that she thinks
Jim is hiding out on Jackson Island.
Hearing his suspicions, Huck returns
for Jim and together they flee the
island to avoid detection.
At the Grangerford house Huck is
treated well and he discovers that
Jim is hiding in a nearby swamp.
A few nights later, a steamboat runs
over the raft, forcing Huck and Jim
to jump overboard. They part again
as they swim for their lives.
In one day all the men in the
Grangerford family are killed,
including Huck's new best friend,
Buck.

Amidst the chaos, Huck runs to
Jim, and together they start
sailing down the river again.
In the show, the King parades naked
for a few minutes. The men are too
ashamed to admit that they wasted
their money this way.
Further away, Huck rescues two
well-known fraudsters the Duke
and the King. The two men take
control of the raft and begin
traveling downstream and making
money by cheating people in various
towns along the river.
they tell everyone that the show
was phenomenal, so the next night's
show is a success.
The Duke and the King develop a
scam that makes them more than
four hundred dollars. The scam
involves getting all the men in town
to go to a show under the promise
of great entertainment.
On the third night, they all return
plotting revenge, but the Duke and
King manage to escape with all the
profits made.

Further down the river, the two
swindlers learn of a large
inheritance destined for three
recently orphaned girls. To steal
the money, the men pretend to be the
girls' British uncles.
Huck runs into Mary Jane Wilks, the
oldest of the girls, and sees that
she is crying. Then he confesses the
whole story to her. She is furious,
but agrees to leave the house for a
few days so Huck can escape.
The girls treat Huck so kindly that he
promises to protect them from the
con men's plan. Huck sneaks into the
King's room and steals the heirloom's
large bag of gold.
the city attorney assembles the four
men to determine who is lying. The
King and the Duke play their roles
so well that there is no way to
determine the truth.
He hides the gold in the coffin of
Peter Wilks (the girls' father).
Finally, one of the royal uncles says
that his brother Peter had a tattoo
on his chest and challenges the King
to identify it. To determine the truth,
the citizens decide to exhume the
body.
 Digging up the coffin, the
townspeople discover the missing
money that Huck hid in the coffin.

Huck runs straight to the raft and

he and Jim jump into the river. The Huck boldly decides to go save his
Duke and King also escape and friend Jim because Ducke and King
manage to join the others on the have sold him into slavery for being
raft. a fugitive from New Orleans.

After much planning, the boys

convince the town that a group of but Tom is shot in the leg. Huck
thieves is planning to steal Jim. That The local farmers follow them, returns to town to find a doctor,
night, they pick up Jim and begin to shooting as they run after them. whom he sends to Tom and Jim's
run away. Huck, Jim and Tom manage to escape hideout.
 The doctor returns with Tom on a
stretcher and Jim in chains. Jim is
mistreated until the doctor
describes helping him take care of
the boy. When Tom wakes up he
demands that Jim be set free.
At this point, Aunt Polly appears,
having come all the way down the
river. She realized something was
seriously wrong after her sister
wrote that both Tom and Sid had
arrived.
Huck and Tom give Jim forty dollars
for being such a good prisoner and
letting them free him, when in fact
he was free a while ago

Jim reveals to him that the dead man

on the houseboat was, in fact, Huck's
father.

Huck concludes the novel by

Aunt Sally offers to adopt Huck, but declaring he would never have
he refuses, on the grounds that he's undertaken the task of writing his
