Hello,

TriumphPay has been made aware by multiple brokers that there is an active scheme
currently happening where bad actors are posing as legitimate freight brokers, using
stolen credentials of the freight broker on a major load board, and tendering loads to
carriers. In these instances, these loads are not legitimate loads of the freight broker.
We, in partnership with our other clients, are committed to proactively making sure you
stay informed about these schemes to help you prevent the purchase of fraudulent
invoices.

What Does This Mean for Me?

Factors should pay extra attention for the next few weeks through pre-purchase
verifications of loads being purchased from major load boards

Factors should be extra diligent right now because other brokers are having similar
issues

During pre-purchase review of load documentation, we encourage factors to pay

extra attention to the rate confirmations being submitted to look for any abnormal
contact information, logos or other markings that differ from a debtor’s historical rate
confirmations

While not unique to this situation, factors who purchase these fraudulent invoices
are at risk of not being paid by the freight broker

While protection from this type of fraud is a core capability of the TriumphPay Payments
Network, we recognize not all factors are on the Payments Network. As industry partners
we want to make sure the entire community remains informed in our joint efforts to combat
fraud.
