This game started as a nagging idea in the back of my head at the start of 2021.

A minimalistic minimalist game with a distinct OSR feel that could it on a single A5
page, both rules and character sheet!

Bit by bit, everything started to fall into place and inally I had to sit down and write it
all down. It took me about two evenings to inish it. The irst thing that came to me was
the title, Down We Go. The writing and the layout was then done simultaneously.

Ever since my irst forays into the scene that is OSR I've tried to wrap my head around it,
to ind the true meaning of it all. The core if you will. You can be the judge if I succeeded
or not but what I realized was this: My OSR does not have to be the same as your OSR.
We're both ine. We both it.

Some design goals when I sat down to write Down We Go were:

● Character sheet and Rules should it on one A5 page

● You should be up and running within ten minutes

● All player facing rolls, roll over to succeed

● Hit points does not increase when you level up

● It should it both new and experienced players and referees

● Lots of room for houseruling and improvisation

● Fairly easy to convert on the ly when playing existing modules

I want to mention a few of the giants (in no particular order) on whose shoulders I have
stood upon; Nathan Treme (Tunnel Goons), Terje Nordin & Mattias Nä rvä (Svä rd &
Svartkonst), Pelle Nilsson & Johan Nohr (Mö rk Borg), Ben Milton (Knave), Christian
Mehrstam (Whitehack) and David Black (The Black Hack).

If you happen to purchase my game, I'm happy. Should you then decide to actually play
it, I'm even happier. And if you for any reason feel inclined to write a quick recap of how
the session went down, and share it somewhere I can ind it, I'm in heaven.

Take care!
