RESEARCH METHODS

The study entitled “Online Games and the Performance in School of information and

Communication Technology Students aims to determine the performance of the Senior High

School Students in terms of the average grades in the first semester of School year 2022-

2023.

Research Design

This study employs a Descriptive - Survey Research Design by inquiring about

factors such as online games and the academic performance than can assist the

researchers in identifying data most important in determining the performance in school of

Information

and Communication Technology Students. Descriptive Survey Design is a type of research

that is used to collect data about a population or group. The goal of this design is to describe

the characteristics of the

population or group being studied, such as opinions, attitudes, and behaviors. This design

frequently used

in Social Science Research to provide a detailed overview of a population or group.

(Creswell, 2014)

Research environment

This research will be carried out in MSU-MSAT located in Purok- 4 Labuay, Maigo,

Lanao del Norte. The Educational Institution offers Technical Vocational Education and

training programs, as well as General Education Courses, to Students from a variety &

background Mindanao State University – Maigo School of Arts and Trades is a campus of

the Mindanao State University (MSU) system, which is a network of camplises across the

Philippiines that provides higher Education and research programs. (https://msumsat.edu.ph

labout Immision-vision /). Mindanao State University - Maigo School of Arts and Trades offer

strands under the Technical Vocation - livelihood. Through the Technical Vocational -

Livelihood Senior High School Track. Students can gain the skilss and knowledge they need

to seek for employment Straight after Senior High School whether that’s in the Philippines or

overseas. (https://www.online.rhs.com). Mindanao State University - Maigo School of Arts

and Trades also offer academic Track. This track will help you prepare yourself for the

subject specialization of the college course you will take in the future. (http://edukasyon.ph)

Research Respondents

The respondents for these study are the Grade11 Information and Communication

Technology Students in Grade 12 Information and Communication Technology Students

are currently enrolled in SY 2022-2023 in MSU-MSAT consist of 33 Grade 11 Information

and Communication Technology Students and 30 Information and Communication Students

a total of 63 respondents is the sample table from the population using slovin’s formula.

Research technique

The research study will use the purposive sampling technique because not all

Information

and Communication Technology Students have a gadget to play online games, so the

researchers chosen the Information and Communication Technology Students who have

their own gadget so that they could Clearly understand and answer the researcher’s

prepared questionnaires. With the week, the researchers will also try to collect the

questionnaires that they have given to the respondents so that they have given to the

respondents so that the researchers can use their time wisely & evaluate for tabulation,

analysis, and interpretation of data.
