1. Briefly explain two procedures used for radiation pattern measurement. [8]
2. With the aid of a well labelled diagram give a detailed explanation about Yagi Uda
antenna operation. Design a 5 element Yagi antenna operating at 900 MHz having 0.01λ
element spacing. [10]
3. Explain the various modes of propagation of electromagnetic waves. [12]
4. Describe the different feeding methods involved in microstrip antenna. List the
disadvantages and advantages for each method. [15]
5. Design a rectangular patch to work at 2.4GHz for Bluetooth application, use FR4
substrate (ε r=4.4 ; d=1.6 mm ) to make a resonant patch of linear polarization. Estimate
the antenna directivity. [15]
