LIBRO: CANTERVILLE GHOST

RESUMEN

CAPTER 1

An American family surnamed Otis; decides to move from the place where they resided to sattle
in a great castle in a great castle called “caterville castle”, apparently in the place lives a ghost that
have been causing the death and flight of the families that have gone t olive there, whchthey warn
the Otis family but nevertheless this did not stop them them from doing business whith the
property and finally acquired it.

The family is made up of thr father, who is called Hiram Otis; the mother, who is lucrecia Otis; As
fo the children, their names are as follows: Washington, the first to be born; virginia, who follows
whasing and finally there is a pair of twins, who play a very important role in this story and we’ll
see why.

Once the family is in their new home, umney, she is the housekeeper of the castle.

CHAPTER 2

The Otis begin to explore the castle and come across a bloodstain found in the library that is part
of the home; the stain is located near a fireplace.The housekeep tells them that this stain is
irremovable and that is where simon Canterville’s murder of his wife Leonor Canterville took
place. Nevertheless; Mr. Otis, indifferent to Mrs.Umney’s words.

America.

CHAPTER 3

As if that were not enough, on this occasion, the ghost decides to apply another strategy that
consists o fan armor but the latter is so heavy that the ghost stumbles and the noise makes the
whole family wake up; momento that the twins do their pranks again and thorow stones at the
ghost, causing him to fall and to whom Lucrecia offers help for some scrapes that he ghost
vanished.

The ghost meets another ghost whith whom he intends to make an Alliance but then discovers
that it is fake and armed by the Otis.

CHAPTER IV

As time passed, the Otis noticed how the stain was removed but it reappeared although in
different colors,this seemed very strange to them but one day,the stain turned a striking emerald
green color and this was something they liked; as if it were adecoration.

The Canterville Ghost continued in his failed attempts and each time he tried to go unnoticed but
in the same way they noticed his presence and it became a kind of game for the twins.

Canterville has the conception that a ghost exists to scare.

The girl and the gosth talk for a while and he strongly asks she couldn’t even cry anymore and her
faith in God. She accepts and that is how the ghost takes virginia to a secuded place in the castle.

CHAPTER VI

Virginia’s absence alarmed the family who, worried, began to explore of de home to find her
whereabouts.

After the family dinner over at around twuelve midnight, the girl appears whith a box full of jewels
that the Canterville ghost gave her as a token of gratitude for having helped him free him free
himself and be absolved of his sins.

CHAPTER VII
The jewels are offered to the seller of the house who is a relative of the deceased Canterville, but
he asks that the box be left to virginia because she wanted to stay whith her.

However, the seller allowed the girl to keep both the box and the jewelry; No one knew what
happened while virginia was whit great teachings about life, death and how powerful love is.
