Image that shows the Module 2. Topic 5 of E-book

a. What is the main idea of the text?
R// The main idea of the text is to inform about the requirements and documents needed to take

the driving course and obtain a driver's license in the USA.

b. What is the driving program's purpose when it demands to pass the written test and
the driving test?
R// I consider that the purpose of the driving program's when it demands the approval of the

written test is to have the certainty that people have acquired basic knowledge about

important topics when behind the wheel, such as traffic signals and the operation of the car,

since this will help them to drive correctly and to be able to act in a timely manner in case the

car fails. On the other hand, the purpose of passing the driving test is basically to have the

certainty that the person has all the necessary knowledge to access and drive a car.

c. Considering the requirements to have a driver’s license in the USA, do you think we
could apply the same requirements in Colombia? Explain.
R// Basically, in Colombia the same requirements are required to apply for a driver's license,

only that the license for teenagers is from the age of 16 and the driving test has fewer questions.

d. Write four obligations people must do to obtain a driver's license in the United
States.
R//
 The people must attend a driver's education program.

 People must pass a full medical examination and an eye test.

 People must pass a written test and a driving test.

 The immigrants must have a passport or birth certificate as ID.

How to write the text?

Write an introductory paragraph with your name, telling where you work, how many years or

months you have in this job, what are you studying and how you feel in that job.

In the second and third paragraph explain your functions in that job, write at least ten

obligations, and ten necessities besides three activities you do but that are not obligations.

The final paragraph is a closing paragraph, it should logically conclude your writing, just like

your concluding sentences logically conclude your body paragraphs.

R// TEXT:

my name is Maria Camila Santana Rodriguez I have been working in a clothing store in

Anapoima, Cundinamarca for two years. I have to work to be able to maintain a quality of life,

and pay all my bills. Some of the tasks I have to accomplish during my work day are to

communicate with customers in a very clear and respectful way so that they can come back in

the future because they liked the customer service. I also have to move around to accommodate

the clothes that customers don't buy, I have to put them back in the right place. Sometimes I have

to call about the clothes they are choosing when they request it, maybe they are not sure about

how they look, and also provide advice pieces. Sometimes I also have to call if the store has a lot

of customers as working in customer service can be very stressful, plus I have to go over the

purchase ticket to make sure everything is okay, we know machines make mistakes, and we don't

want a bad experience for our customers.

Some other things I do is that I always have to clock the customers so they can find what they are

looking for, since the person who knows the location of everything is me, also I have to clean the

store when I open, and close it so we always have a good, and comfortable place for our

customers, plus it stays fresh. I also have to hand out the clothes that the customers are looking
for, that is part of my job, to facilitate everything to the people who come to buy our products,

then I have to take care of the whole store, so no one can steal something as this happens

frequently in all stores when there are many customers, I also check the cameras to check that the

store is ok, and finally I remember to check the clothes after a customer tries them on to check

that they are not stained, especially in white shirts.

There are some things I should not do, for example, I should not stop shopping unless the

customer requests it, I should not give up showing different options in case the customer does

not like the ones I show, I should not hang out during my shift hours, I should not postpone any

mandatory task to complete my day, and lastly I should not dress up using the products in the

store without having bought them.
