PRESENTATIONS, INTERPRETATION AND DISCUSSIONS
This chapter presents the results, the analysis and interpretation of
data gathered from the answers to the questionnaires distributed to the field.
The said data were presented in tabular form in accordance with the specific
questions posited on the statement of the problem.

Table 1
Distribution of the Respondents

ICT 1 21 4 21 4 25 33.33%
ICT 2 22 3 22 3 25 33.33%
ICT 3 21 4 21 4 25 33.33%

Table 1 presents the distribution of the respondents garnering twenty-

one (21) male and four (4) female students from ICT 1 overall population of 25
with a percentage of 33.33% and twenty-two (22) male and three (3) female
students from ICT 2 overall population of 25 with a percentage of 33.33% and
twenty-one (21) male and four (4) female students from ICT 3 overall
population of 25 with a percentage of 33.3%. Therefore sixty-four (males) with
a percentage of 85% and eleven (11) females with a percentage of 15%,
garnerning the overall population of seventy-five (75) Grade 12 ICT students
with a Percentage of 100 percent (100%)

This table shows that the data gathered from ICT 1, ICT 2 and ICT 3
students with a computed mean of 3.52 on respectively with descriptive
equivalent of “Agree” that phishing can affect their social health, and a
computed mean of 3.52, 3.48 and 4.12 on ICT 1, ICT 2 and ICT 3 students
respectively, with descriptive equivalent of “Agree” that Phishing takes
away a person’s confidence when their information is leaked, and a computed
mean of 3.8, 3.72, and 3.84 on ICT 1, ICT 2 and ICT 3 students respectively
with descriptive equivalent of “Agree” that Phishing can lead to identity
theft and use it against them towards their friends, and a computed mean of

Damage your reputation. Therefore, the Overall computed mean of ICT
students from sections 1,2 and 3 are 3.85, 3.55, and 3.64 respectively with
descriptive equivalent of “Agree” and Grade 12 ICT Students has a
weighted mean of 3.68 respectively with their descriptive equivalent of

This table shows that the data gathered from ICT 1, ICT 2 and ICT 3
students with computed mean of 4.08, 4, and 3.52 respectively with
descriptive equivalent of “Agree” that Phishing can affect their Mental
health, and a computed mean of 3.68, 3.6 and 3.32 on ICT 1, ICT 2 and
ICT 3 students respectively, with their descriptive equivalents ICT 1 and
ICT 2 students “agrees” while ICT 3 students are “Neutral” that Phishing
would give them anxiety when browsing in the Internet, and a computed mean
of 4, 3.96, and 3.16 on ICT 1, ICT 2 and ICT 3 students respectively, with
their descriptive equivalents ICT 1 and ICT 2 students “Strongly agrees”
while ICT 3 students are “Neutral” that Phishing gives you guiltiness when
your information got leaked, and a computed mean of 3.6, 4.04, and 3.24 on
ICT 1, ICT 2 and ICT 3 students respectively with descriptive equivalent
of “Agree” that Phishing lead to serious mental health problems not just
anxiety. Therefore, the Overall computed mean of ICT students from
sections 1,2 and 3 are 3.84, 3.9, and 3.32 respectively with their descriptive
equivalents from ICT 1 and ICT 2 students “Agrees” while ICT 3 students
are “Neutral” and Grade 12 ICT students has a weighted mean of 3.68
respectively with their descriptive equivalent of “Agree” that phishing has
a mental effect on the students based on their perceptions.

Testing the Null hypothesis

To test the null hypothesis which stated that there is no significant
difference in the Social and Mental Effects of Phishing as perceived by the
grade 12 ICT students of Pangasinan National High School, t-test analysis
was used. The results indicated that the Ho, is accepted and the alternative
rejected as in table 3 below.
Table 3
T.test results
Variables n ͞x SD df Cal.t Crit.t p. < 0.05
Mental 4 3.68 0.07 No
Social 4 3.68 0.07 6 0 ±2.447 significant
difference

Table 3 shows that at 0.05 percent level of significance and degree of

freedom (df, 6), the calculated t (0) is less than the critical t (2.447).
Therefore, there is no significant difference between the Social and
Mental Effects of Phishing as perceived by the grade 12 ICT students of
Pangasinan National High School. Hence the Ho is accepted.

Chapter V
SUMMARY, CONCLUSIONS, AND RECOMMENDATIONS
This chapter is represented in three sections. The first section
contributes to an overall summary of the study followed by the summary of
the findings and their conclusions followed by recommendations for future
research.
SUMMARY
This study sought to measure the Social and Mental Effects of
Phishing as perceived by the grade 12 ICT students of Pangasinan National
High School.
The study sought to answer the following questions.
1. What are the profile of the respondents in terms of:
1. Sex
2. Section
2. What are the effects of Phishing as perceived to the Grade 12 Students in
terms of the following aspects?
2.1 Social
a.) Social Insecurity
2.2 Mental
a.) Anxiety
3. What are the possible solutions to prevent the Students from Phishing?
4. Is there a significant difference on the Social and Mental Effects of Phishing
among grade 12 ICT students of Pangasinan National High School?

RESEARCH METHOD
In this research the researchers will use a descriptive method of
research to satisfy the needed information for the present study. Since this
study is focused on the perceived effects of phishing on social and mental
aspects of the grade 12 ICT students. the descriptive method is the most
appropriate method to use.

RESPONDENTS
A total of seventy-five (75) students from Grade 12 ICT students were
the respondents of the study where twenty-five (25) ICT 1, twenty-five (25) ICT
2, and twenty-five (25) ICT 3 students participated in the data gathering.
STATISTICAL TREATMENT OF DATA
The researchers treated the data gathered statistically, using
percentage and average mean. The researchers used t-test to solve for the
significant difference between social and mental effects of phishing as
perceived by the grade 12 ICT students of Pangasinan National High School.

RECOMMENDATIONS
The following recommendations are formulated based on the conclusion and
findings:
1. The researchers highly recommend that to protect your devices by
setting software to update automatically that could give you critical
protection against Phishing threats
2. The researchers recommend that students must engage on seminars on
how to detect phishing and how to prevent phishing.
3. Researchers must continue to conduct the study in a larger population
to gather more accurate data.
