Animals have coexisted with humans since ancient times,either to feed on them, others to
help them defend themselves, and they have also been domesticated and used as pets.
This has brought positive and negative aspects for both, for example, sharing life with
companion animals has various benefits such as helping us to socialize and establish bonds
with other people, reducing fears, symptoms of depression and levels of aggressiveness.
They also have benefits in other areas, such as people with some mental or physical
disability, for example in blind people these animals serve as guides and life companions. As
time has passed, we have trained our pets for different things, one of them taken to
professionalism such as dogs trained to detect corpses, to detect drugs, or rescue dogs in
places such as fires or landslides.

We also have some negative aspects, a negative aspect of human-animal interaction is

abandonment. The abandonment rate in Spain is one of the highest with 285,000
abandoned dogs and cats per year. The main cause of abandonment is the lack of
awareness of what it means to adopt an animal, and all the care that the animal will require. I
also think it is important that people know what it means to adopt an animal.In my opinion
another aspect to talk about are cruel treatments to animals. Every year dozens of
denunciations are filed for this reason. Most developed societies have legal mechanisms to
stop people who do it.
There are also other types of abuse that do not have to be physical, for example, putting wild
animals in a circus, which they do is take them out of their natural habitat and put them in
cages and small spaces, in which animals are stressed and do not feel comfortable.

Soluciones para mejorar esta relación

However we have several solutions to solve these problems, for example to avoid animal
abuse, we should educate our close people not to adopt these behaviors, and become
aware that they also feel and it is not correct to do that kind of thing. To finish, the last
solution would also be to prohibit shows in which animals are used as the center of attention
since these animals have been taken out of their natural habitat and used for shows in which
these animals are not comfortable
