This course focuses on creating creative ideas from selected textiles and other materials for
textile-based product items for fashion accessories, soft furnishings, interior decorations,
stationaries, and artistic products through specific design and production processes.
Students are required to do in-depth research on various textile products, textile techniques,
materials, technical specifications, and creative embellishments to create textile products
Course Description which are creative, innovative, contemporary, functional, and also practical. In achieving
these goals, students must be aggressive in developing concepts and ideas and develop a
keen study in identifying textile products, materials, and current trends and issues.
Presentation of creative technical drawings and illustrations using varieties of contemporary
methods are equally as important next to the knowledge in the production process of the
textile product itself.

At the end of the course, students should be able to:

CO1: Understand how ideas and designs contribute to the function of selected products
by in-depth research and exploration in idea development. (C1, C2, P1, P2, A1)
CO2: Create concepts in the context of research (rationale of solution/ selection) that
explore the aesthetic and functionality of the proposed textile product, and have
Course Outcomes the ability to produce good research and develop ideas and designs on
numerous textile product items. (C2, C3, P2, A1-2)
CO3: Develop new textile product design through a specific process and method from
research, ideation, and making up of the product. Knowledgeable of selected
products, current trends, idea presentation, and skillful workmanship by creating
creative visual presentations (drawings and technical illustrations) using multiple
media and methods. (C3-5, P2-3, A1-2)

At the end of the course, students should be able to:
