You/We/They are / aren’t going to talk

- PRESENT CONTINUOUS
We can use the present continuous to talk about future plans and
arrangements that have a fixed time and/or place:
They’re coming home for the weekend.
For future plans with the verb to go, we prefer to use the present
continuous rather than be going to:
4
I’m going to the supermarket after breakfast.
- PRESENT SIMPLE
we use the present simple with a future meaning to talk about
programmes, schedules and timetables:
the train from london arrives at 8:30
we also use the present simple for personal plans when they are fixed
like a timetable
helen gets home from school at 16:30
Note that when we are talking about personal plans, we often start with
the present continuous and then give details of the schedule using the
present simple:
We are going on a tour of Italy next month. We start in Venice, then visit
Florence, and finally spend a few days in Rome.
