A. Related to the Present time: an action that started in the past and continue to the
present.
 I have worked here for 15 years.
 My brother has lived in Arequipa since 2010.
 Nilton has studied in ITEP for 3 months.
 You have stayed in this hotel since Saturday.
 I have played tennis for 5 years.
 You have been in classes since 6 p.m.
 My friend Ronald has lived here for 10 years.

B. Time is not mentioned: it is not connected to the time.


 I have traveled to Europe many times.
 He has gone to a concert twice.
 I have had a prom party. It was wonderful.
 I’ve had a serious accident.

Affirmative

I have been to overseas. (be – was/were – been)


I’ve played tennis for years. (play – played – played)
