Temperature-rise Test
Auxiliary and Control Equipment

Test performed: Temperature-rise test of the auxiliary and control equipment

Date of test: February 13 - March 05, 2020
Condition of test object: New
Duration of test: 17 h
Ambient air temperature: 20 °C ± 1 °C
Test voltage: 220 V d.c.
220 V a.c. (anti-condensation equipment)

Test performance:
For the temperature-rise test, the components which are active during normal operation of the control

supply voltage of 220 V d.c. The anti-condensation equipment (heating) was supplied by the rated voltage
of 220 V a.c.

At the end of the test the components which are active during operating cycles of the circuit-breaker,
including tripping coils and recharging device of driving mechanism, were energized by their rated supply
voltage and commands were given to operate 10 operating cycles within 10 minutes.

The circuits which are relevant with regard to the temperature-rise test are energized by the following
terminals: X1/450, X1/465, X1/480, X1/481, X1/486, X1/487, X1/503, X1/504, X1/518, X1/519, X1/610,

Results and Evaluation

Temperature-rise Test Auxiliary and Control Equipment

The temperature-rise test was made on a control and operating mechanism cubicle of a three-pole
operated outdoor circuit-breaker.

The values of temperature rise at all measuring points did not exceed the limits specified by IEC 62271-1
nor the limits of components given by the manufacturer.
The permitted temperature rise limits are valid for an ambient air temperature of +55 °C.

After the test, the following observations were made during the visual inspection:
All mechanical parts and parts of auxiliary and control equipment did not show any undue wear nor any
distortion.

Thus, the test has been passed.
