8. Penguins are a group of flightless aquatic birds living almost exclusively in the
Southern Hemisphere, particularly in Antarctica. Highly adaptive to live in the sea,
penguins have countershaded dark and white feather, and their wings have evolved
into flippers. Most penguins feed squid, fish, and other forms of sealife caught while
they are swimming underwater. Eventhough all penguin species are native to the
Southern Hemisphere, they do not live only in cold climates, such as Antarctica. In
fact, only a little species of penguin live too far south. Some species are found in the
temperate area, and one species, the Galápagos penguin, lives not too far with the
equator. The vast living species is the emperor penguin (Aptenodytes forsteri): when
they are adults they are about 1.1 m (3 ft 7 in) tall and 35 kg weight or more. The
smallest one is the little blue penguin (Eudyptula minor), which is known as the fairy
penguin, which stands around 40 cm height and 1 kg weight. Among the species of
penguin, larger penguins live in colder regions, while smaller penguins generally
inhabit tropical climates places. Some prehistoric species of penguin attained
enormous sizes, becoming as heavy as an adult human.

21. The Island of Wingo is by the island of Singa. In the water around Wingo Island,
there are hundreds of sharks. They are so many that the water bubbles like a
whirlpool. People can only get to Wingo Island by boat. The boat has a rocket on it.
The rocket takes people over the sharks and onto the island.
Wingo Island has no sand but it has green moss. At night the moss sparkles like
stars. Tall stars called Fruji grow everywhere The Fruji tress have purple leaves at
the top and yellow fruit all over them. When a fruit falls off, another tree grows in a
minute.
The Weather on Wingo Island is very hot but at twelve o’clock, everyday, it rains.
Sometimes, there are windstorms. They happen when too many animals fly around at
the same time.
People who stay on Wingo Island sleep in a big-gloo. It is like an igloo but it is on
long poles. It has a ladder to get up and a slide to come down. The big-gloo has a
moss bed, chairs, and tables that are made of Fruji tress.
There is no television on Wingo Island. So is the telephone and computer. It is place
to listen to the leaves whispering. It is a place to lie on soft green moss and look at
the clouds. It is really a place to dream.

32. Electricity between a cloud and the ground, or from cloud to cloud. A lightning
flash, or bolt, can be several miles long. It is so hot, with an average temperature of
34,000° Centigrade that the air around it suddenly expands with a loud blast. This is
the thunder we hear. Lightning occurs in hot, wet storms. Moist air is driven up to
a great height. It forms a type of cloud called cumulonimbus. When the cloud rises
high enough, the moisture freezes and ice crystals and snowflakes are formed. These
begin to fall, turning to rain on the way down. This rain meets more moist air rising,
and it is the friction between them which produces static electricity. When a cloud is
fully charged with this electricity, it discharges it as a lightning flash. What will
