King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table

Introduction
Narrator: Welcome to the rich land of Camelot, a kingdom where the peace
was absolute and war did not exist at all. King Uther reigned Camelot with
kindness and strength and put his heart in his empire. However, Uther´s
feelings were corresponded by his reign, but not by the woman he loved,
Igreine…

First part
(Curtain opens)
(Uther appears in scene; he knocks Merlin´s door)
Uther: Merlin The Magician, I must enquire for your help, and I ought to pay
you back.
(Merlin appears in scene)
Merlin: My King, I was certainly not expecting your visit.
Uther: My apologies, Magician, but I found myself truly in love with Igreine,
however her feelings are indifferent to mines indeed.
Merlin: My dearest King Uther, I am willing to help you enamore Igreine, but
you are to promise to me giving your first and only child.
Uther: For what I am most grateful, old friend. And I promise I will give you
my future descendant.
(Curtain closes)

Second part
(Curtain opens)
(Uther and Igreine appear in scene with baby Arthur; Merlin is in scene with
them)
Igraine: Such a pretty baby boy, is he not my love?
Uther: If you say so, dear.
Merlin: Even though this is a cute moment, I shall take Arthur with myself.
Igreine: Please Merlin, do not take my son yet. Uther, do something.
Uther: Merlin, do what you must do.
(Merlin takes Arthur from his mother´s arms, she burst into tears. Uther
remains cold and serious)
(Curtain closes)

Third part
Narrator: A short time after this happened, King Uther was very ill. He did
not get better. He called for merlin and spoke about the future of his kingdom.
He said “my son Arthur will be next King”. This generated a fight between
knights and great men, there was no new king for a long time.
(Curtain opens)
(Some knights appear to pull Excalibur out, but they could not move it)
Narrator: Long time after, Merlin called the knights and great men to
London, in order to find the next King. The Magician put the sword Excalibur
inside a stone, which had these words on: “ONLY THE KING CAN TAKE
THE SWORD FROM THE STONE”.
(Archbishop appears in scene)
Archbishop: Honorable men, the following king will be chosen when this
sword (points at Excalibur) is pulled out from the rock.
Narrator: None of the knight could move the sword, but nobody said that
knights were the only ones whom could try to pull the Excalibur out…
(Curtain closes)
(Curtain opens) (Arthur appears in scene and he is watching Excalibur)
Narrator: After all, young Arthur returned to his land but he surely was not
expecting what future prepared for him…
(Arthur walks to the stone)
Arthur: A church is a strange place for a sword… why is it inside a stone?
(Arthur pulls the sword out)
Archbishop: Young man, it is you… you are our next King.
(The Archbishop bows) (Merlin appears in scene)
Arthur: I do not understand…
Merlin: Do not fear kid. I will guide you within your path to become the best
King of all times.
Arthur: I cannot thank you enough for your assistance, Magician.
Merlin: However, be aware of taking this magic scabbard with you anywhere
(he gives Arthur a scabbard), because an evil woman will try to take it away
from you with the sword included.
Arthur: I will not leave them, I promise.
(Curtain closes)

Fourth part
Narrator: The knights and Arthur came back form fighting and stopped in the town of
Camelot. One day, king Arthur visited his friend king Leodegraunce. Automatically, Arthur fell in
love with the king's daughter.

(Curtain opens)

(Arthur appears in scene)


Arthur: I love Guinevere and I want to marry her. She is the most beautiful
girl in the world

(Arthur ang Guinevere hold their hands)


Narrator: That same day, the lovers went to church and the archbishop
married them. King Leodegraunce was very happy with the situation. They
finally enjoyed a party in the city of Camelot .

(Curtains closes)
Fifth part
Narrator: Merlin did not lie about the evil woman…
(Morgan Le Fay appears in scene; Arthur is sleeping on the grass with the
sword and the scabbard next to him)
Narrator: The Queen Morgan Le Fay, was a woman with a heart as black as a
raven, corrupted by dark magic. Above all, she despised Arthur and wanted
him dead, for what she tied a wicked plan to make her wishes come true…
Morgan: Your end is coming, King Arthur Pendragon… (Morgan laughs
whispers)

(Morgan disappears; Arthur wakes up startled)


Arthur: It was just a bad dream… (he touches the grass, searching for
Excalibur and the scabbard) (He picks Excalibur up, but he doesn´t find the
scabbard). Where is my scabbard?? (Arthur searches for it desperately). I
must search for it, immediately. (Arthur hears a horse) What´s that?
Narrator: While sharpening his eyesight, Arthur saw a black horse riding
very fast on the horizon.
Arthur: I must follow that horse!
(Curtain closes)

Sixth part
(Curtain opens)
(Morgan appears near a black lake with the scabbard; Arthur appears in
scene too)
Morgan: You will not stop me, Pendragon!
Arthur: Give me my scabbard, witch. Now!
Morgan: You want it so bad that I pity you. Good luck finding it!
(Morgan throws the scabbard to the lake and disappears)
Arthur: I need to find it! Where is it?
(Continues searching; he doesn´t fin the scabbard)
Narrator: Even though Arthur tried, he was not able to find the magic
scabbard, which lost forever in the black deep water of the lake. With sadness
in his heart, the King returned to Camelot.
(Curtain closes)

Seventh part
Narrator: Some time after, during a reunion between King Arthur and the
Knights of the Round Table, something strange happened…
(Curtain opens)
(Arthur appears with some of the knights; an old man with a young boy
appears)
Arthur: Who are you, foreigners?
Old man: My name does not matter, but his does. This is Sir Galahad, and his
destiny is to be the best knight of the Round Table.
(Everyone looks at the young boy with strangeness)
Lancelot: Before anyone says something, and by the expression of your faces,
I actually know him.
Arthur: You do now, Lancelot?
Lancelot: Yes, my king. He is my son. In fact, when I was on a journey, a nun
came outside with Galahad and told me that he must became a knight.
Arthur: You are my closest friend, so I believe in you. Welcome the Knights
of the Round Table, Sir Galahad.
(Curtain closes almost completely; a lightning strikes)
(Curtain opens again; a gold cup/Grail is on the table)
Galahad: That is the Grail. I will go out and look for it.
Lancelot: I will go with you, son.
(Curtain closes)
Eight part

Narrator: While King Arthur was in France, Sir Mordred went to Camelot
with the goal of being the new king.
(Curtain opens)
Sir Mordred: Arthur is dead, he died in France. Now I will be the king. And
you Guinevere, you will be my woman.

Guinevere: You are lying. I'd rather die than stay with you, stay away from
me!

Narrator: Guinevere ran away to a castle in London, and her knights went
with her. She took refuge in her castle, where Mordred's men could not
enter.
