CLINICAL OBJECTIVES:
1. To provide nursing care to children with various medical disorders
2. Counsel and educate parents. 3. Recognise different pediatric medical and surgical conditions/malformations. 4. Provide pre and post operative care to children with common pediatric surgical conditions/malformations. 5. Counsel and educate parents. 6. Performs assessment of childs Health developmental and anthropometric measurements. 7. Performs immunisation 8. Gives health education/nutritional education. 9. Provide nursing care to critically ill children. 10. Provide comprehensive care to children with medical and surgical conditions. 11. Provide intensive care to neonates. 12. Perform a head to toe assesment. 13. Apply ethical and legal principles when caring for the pediatric client.
DRESS GUIDELINES:
1. Wear name tag at all times.
2. Wear neat and tidy uniform. 3. Wear nursing shoes. 4. Follow nursing policy related to hair, nails,rings etc. 5. No use of perfumes, body fragrant lotion and hair spray while on the pediatric ward.
